I've been meaning to upgrade my PC by buying some more RAM and getting a new vid card. Should I get this game on the 360 or upgrade my PC for it? I might go with the 360 version since it doesn't look like modding will be as huge as it was for Oblivion. What do you guys think?

I'd just get it on Xbox 360 if you're not planning to use your PC for other games.

Hmm, that's true.  It just seems more cost-effective to get the console versions of these crazy games these days.

I'd go with the 360 version, but you did say you've been wanting to upgrade for a while...

Actually, specs for Fallout 3 are surprisingly low. I'd prolly upgrade my PC.

I bought a version on the 360 and a version on the PC, it runs really well on my PC and so I play it on it more, however, I remember Oblivion when it came out, I bought the PC version first, at the time I had a 6800 Ultra graphics card, and was bummed I had to lower certain settings (namely HDR to Bloom and shadow settings) until I spent an afternoon tweaking ini files and downloading optimised texture packs to get it running and looking the way I wanted it, then when I bought it for 360 I was really pleased with it, having HDR, AA and all the shadows around.
So, I'd grab the 360 version of Fallout 3 if I was you, whilst Fallout 3 is a far smoother game than Oblivion in terms of performance on the PC, don't take the risk with your money.

Either, or, really. Right now is a prime time for PC parts since things are dirt cheap vs. performance, but unless you have other reasons to upgrade it other then for Fallout, snag the 360 version.

Specs on the PC in question would help.

Upgrade your PC, and I mean seriously. I've been playing this on my friend's PC since his is a lot better than mine.
I just can't imagine playing this game comfortably with a gamepad.

And with that, I'm off to look at new computers. :(

It looks and controls better on the PC plus whatever mods that may come out for it. If you've already been wanting to upgrade and plan future gaming on your PC, I say go for it.

Upgrade your PC if you have high resolution monitor, plus  video cards and RAM are cheap these days.

PC version will eventually get n SDK (if its anything like previous Bethesda games) and you definetly want to be a part of the mod community. They're gonna make some crazy shit. Someone will probably remake Van Buren (the original Fallout 3 that was never finished) and the classic style Fallout combat.

This, and you can use the developer console to get a bunch of achievements right away (if you're into that, and you tie the game into your Live account). I'd still recommend playing through the game once before you do that so you don't ruin the game.

i honestly think that is redundant
because the game playing at its lowest playable specs on the PC, should be a lot less impressive graphically than it is on the 360
