Fallout 4 1.3 is available in Beta (for Steam users) starting today.

Includes a lot of gameplay, quest, and workshop fixes, and a few new features. See the full list here.

No info yet on when this update will leave beta or hit consoles. (If you opt into the beta, please follow their advice and back up your game saves first.)

Some of the few fixes/changes I'm glad to see:

    • Added status menu for settlers in your settlements
    • Ability to change axis of rotation when placing objects
    • Fixed an issue with Minutemen quests repeating improperly
    • Fixed an issue with NPCs getting stuck in Power Armor
    • Improvements to snapping pieces together while in Workshop mode
    • Fixed an issue with settlement happiness calculations
    • Fixed an issue that could prevent the player from setting up a supply line in settlements with a high population

Yay, I made a thread last week wondering when it would appear.

-Fixed an issue with Minutemen quests repeating improperly

This could be huge as I kept being sent to the same places.

And finally wires don't cost copper!

This has made me wonder if it's always worth waiting until a few months after launch to play Bethesda games in the future. I should have known that already.

Wires not costing copper might be the biggest change in that list.

Wires don't cost copper? After I wired my entire Starlight Drive-in fortress? Dammit.

Ooooohhhhh.... The game added a bunch of exclusive Nvidia graphics options. I am going to grab some popcorn, head over to r/pcmasterrace then just watch the hate being spewed over there.

Hopefully it lets people mess around with the wires a bunch more without having to go and farm copper. It really is a big deal!

As much as I love grabbing the popcorn, I can only see one graphical option added for Nvidia, the 'New weapon debris effects', whatever that is. One is still too many, what are the others?

They don't mention Nvidia only, but HBAO+ is part of the gameworks package. Nvidia exclusive weapon animations mean that Physx is involved and that is part of the gameworks package. I am on mobile, so I am too lazy to find some links for you, but there are a lot of people who get upset whenever developers start to plug-in gameworks support. Gameworks doesn't usually work that well on ATI cards and since ATI has an open source alternative PC nerds have fallen in love with ATI and nvidia now = evil personified. Just as a warning, if you go to pretty much any PC gaming site people will get mad at you if you even suggest that Gameworks isn't literally NAZI propoganda used to brainwash individuals into wasting their money.

HBAO+ is the best god damn thing in pc games since tesselation and global illumination. More games should use this stuff, it adds a lot and fallout 4 had very weak ambient occlusion.
