I'm new to this game.I've been traveling around looking for factions and good equipment. But I always seem to come across these creatures.They look like demons there tall and have big claws.3 or 4 swipes and my whole health is gone.The weapons and armor I have aren't helping me against them.Doe's anyone know a place in this game where I can find good weapons and armor?

If you're new to the game, you're probably not ready to take on deathclaws yet.  Work on getting some levels.  Deathclaws in Fallout 3 were around level 20ish I think.  I think they're the same here, maybe a little lower.

@falserelic: no problem.

that being said if you're new to the game and you keep on running into Deathclaws, then you might just want to avoid the area you've found them in until you're at a higher level. If you're at a low level and you're fighting Deathclaws, it doesn't matter what type of gun you have, you're still gonna have trouble with them.

Best armor is at Gunrunners. However, Deathclaws ignore armor, so it's pretty fucking pointless to try and out-armor their attacks. Stealth boy, anti-material rifle, headshots. That's the way to take them down. Also, just completely avoid the quarry, it's not worth it to get your ass handed to you.

@Getz: Thanks for the lnfo,I have to find where the gunrunners armor is located.I hope they give me the armor,if not I'll just rob them.

Robbery could be tricky, they are fairly well fortified, so if your having issues with deathclaws you'll also have issues with fighting their guards. Also, in order to get to gun runners you need to go through some pretty tough country., which at your level you most likely haven't been through yet. If you need to get past the quarry, just go to goodsprings and head north and then around, along the road. Theres like 1 baby deathclaw and a few cazadores (Which are pretty damn tough, shoot their wings and watch out for their poison.), if you head towards the strip (And Gun Runners), you might have to go through Fiend Territory. Just take your time and sneak whenever you can.

And fun fact: Deathclaws are heavily mutated Chameleons.

Yeah.  I'm guessing you're trying to head straight to the Strip from Goodsprings, which means going through the quarry, but that's actually NOT the way you want to go (I tried this too when I first started playing).  At least not this early in the game.  In this instance you DON'T want to head straight for the light.  Just follow your quests.  :)

Always put points in to speech since it unlocks lots of rewards and open quicker paths in quest.
Don't make the NCR your enemy too early, it will limit you to places where there are quest and merchants.
Either spec in Lockpicking or science to help you unlock things. Try going for 50 for each if possible.
Repair skill is very good and getting the Jury Rigging Perk makes repairing a lot easier.

@metalsnakezero: I agree I do need to increase my speech skill.I've came across alot characters in the desert.Where I couldn't use certain dialogue because of my low speech skill.Thanks for the advice,I'll keep it in mind.
