It sounds like what shadow run should have been on the next generation consoles.
Arena fights sound awesome and hacking in casinos sounds pretty nifty.
It'd be kind of cool tho if they would just raise the level cap a little higher.

Fallout New Vegas details!
" Niiiice. I'll just be happy if Obsidian put out a game that's half as buggy as Fallout 3, but the new different things they are incorporating sound awesome. "Yeah, I'm definitely hoping for a much less-buggy game too. I've sunk over eighty hours into Fallout 3 thus far, but there are just so many technical issues I've experienced over the course of my time with the game... it's a real shame. Looking forward to this release though.
I really like the idea of the origins, but I'd be interested in hearing the other ones. Lets hope one of them is a Brotherhood of Steel one
Call me skeptical but i'm not trusting anything until it gets confirmed from the company how is making it.
" Damn I hope that all that is true, the part about vehicles sounds really good "@Driadon said:
" Holy.... My god, do I ever want now. If they do this right, this may become the "true" Fallout 3. That thought alone made my underwear wet. "Feeling like you guys IF this is true. God, the Gamespot forums is not a source of information I highly regard. But all of that sounds amazing, I would love to see it.
Moving this to the Fallout: New Vegas forum.
" Have they just nullified "This is Vegas"? "Not until they have the dancing mini-games. I actually forgot about that game.... vaporware?
It still exists. It was one of the properties that Warner Brothers got when they bought up most of Midway. Whether or not it will ever be finished is another thing entirely.
I'm looking forward to New Vegas simply because it's more Fallout 3. And I love me some Fallout 3. While I believe that Obsidian is proficient they have a bad reputation as the "sloppy seconds" developer of others properties. Their only original IP is Alpha Protocol and that disappeared from it's release date and has been pushed to a generic 2010 release.
Yes, I know that Obsidian is made up of a fair number of former members of Black Isle but the Fallout 3 engine and world are a good bit different from the Fallout 1 and 2 days. Its been so many years that they have yet to prove themselves in my eyes.
I like it because it shows Vegas in ruins... I hate Vegas.
Seeing as I am just getting into Fallout 3 now, I am not sure if I will like it or not but Fallout 3 seems cool. If I like Fallout 3 when I am done with it then I will likely get into this as well. I need some single player games that run long so this should fit the bill.
I am wary of the vehicles as well though... I am getting flash backs of driving around Africa in Far Cry 2... it gets tedious. Its great to have a big game but having to drive around a 30 mile map can get boring. If there is some kind of fast travel system at some point then that helps.
Hopefully the vehicles will be limited, and the perspective not 1st person.
Great thing that this is Obsidian and not Bethesda.
While that sounds amazingly awesome, as it was when I saw it on the GAF, its already been proven false from a Game Informer dude." It sounds like what shadow run should have been on the next generation consoles.

That sounded so awesome too that I hope that whoever gave the details just got the magazine wrong.
That sounds pretty awesome. Seems like they're going to strive to give the game a different feel to Fallout 3, and maybe give it more of the tone seen in the first two games. Regardless, I can never get enough quality RPG's, and it seems like this one is going to be up to the high standards of the series.
I hope it's good but considering that Obsidian Entertainment just bumped Alpha Protocol yet again, I have to wonder how stable the studio is. Such inconsistencies can make for a difficult work environment and a final product that is less than what it could have been. I'm not saying Fallout: New Vegas will be junk, I'm just worried about the situation at Obsidian and how it might impact the game.
