For me, I got the game a couple of days ago, have logged 11 hours and 50 minutes and have just reached the area immediately outside New Vegas, the Crimson Caravan company etc. I don't know if I'm progressing 'quickly' or not. Doesn't bother me, I have done a fair few side quests and am enjoying the game so far. Just curious as to how long it took everyone.
Fallout: New Vegas
Game » consists of 25 releases. Released Oct 19, 2010
The post-apocalyptic Fallout universe expands into Nevada in this new title in the franchise. As a courier once left for dead by a mysterious man in a striped suit, the player must now set out to find their assailant and uncover the secrets of the enigmatic ruler of New Vegas.
How long did it take you to reach the Strip? (keep spoilers out)
I've been playing for 13 hours and I still haven't reached it. I'm at Novac right now, just completed Come Fly With Me.
" these plus 30hour answers are blowing my freakin mind. You guys just wander the Mojave for ages? "Yeah I STARTED on Hardcore Mode on Hard difficulty and couldn't afford to wander but if I could it probably would've taken me a bit longer than the 7 hours it took me.
" Just checked, I'm on 41. I like to explore, but I do believe it is time to collect up Boone and ED-E and book up the road. I do like to explore, it is because what I felt I did wrong in FO-3, just jamming on the story quests. "41 Jesus *mind = blown*. I feel like doing the same though because I almost feel like travelling with Boone and ED-E, Boone kicks too much arse. In saying that though there are other games to get to (Fable, Sims 3, Assassin's Creed soon) that means I should finish off Fallout
About 18hrs, I avoided it for as long as possible as I don't like cities in games, I usually get lost.
I'm at 19 hours, and I saved just outside the REPCONN building, with the intent of making my trip to the strip next time I play. So by the time I get there, I'd say 20 hours.
First playthrough, about 4. I'm on my second, did alot more scaving and side quests I just hit it at about 10.

At 47 hours and with some more quests completed and pending nearby, I just made it inside the Strip. I had already bounced against the front gate, interred Boone and EDE back at the hotel, and then finally stumbled blindly in another way. Gawd, they wanted 2000 caps at the gate! F**K Em, now I'm luxuriating in my smelly Mojave desert amour next to a cracked pool..(got water in it though!), sitting awkwardly in a lawn chair. Like the guy says walking past, "ain't this the bees knees".
Took me about 10 hours playing on hardcore, but then I finished it in another 10-15 and powered through the rest unfortunately due to my schedule.
I would say somewhere between 7 and 8 hours. I was focusing primarily on the main quest line until I got to Vegas and only did maybe 1 or 2 side quests that I ran into on my way to the strip.
I've logged in around 60 hours, maybe more than that. I have yet to actually go to the strip. I've been in Freeside and have almost entered New Vegas proper but haven't done it yet. I'm also level 23 or 24 and have gone though 5 companions quests already. Seems I'm doing everything except what I'm supposed to be.
2 hours if you skip a lot of stuff.....was thinking if you could just go to boulder city right away?
