So, I decided to slaughter the Legion members Nipton didn't like the idea of me being the scared messenger. The fight wasn't to bad; I placed mines in and tossed dynamite, instead of getting close and having to read through the dialog. 
 
Ever since I killed those bastards in Nipton, I've been ambushed quite a bit by the Legion.  I can't outrun them, so I have to stay and kill them all, and that only makes things worse. Now I have to wear crappy Legion armor whilst travelling between destinations and my disguise doesn't work on all of the assassins. 
 
Is there any way I can put an end to the ambushes without gaining their respect?

Kill them?

• Whenever I'm ambushed, it's usually 5-6 of them. They quickly chip away at my health with their SMGs and some weird ass Flame Machete
• They're faster, so I can't put adequate distance between us.
• My Guns are 45 and I'm level 6 and these fuckers can take a lot of hits before they die.

Do you have Boone as a companion?

get to the strip as fast as you can. When you get there you will get an invitation to go see Caesar and get the "mark of Caesar" er something and they will no longer come after you.

You should always have a companion with you like Veronica or Boone. Also I would recommend Level up a bit and have Guns at 75 or 50 instead of 45 to do a little more damage.
