Were Manual saves THAT much to ask for?

Seriously, I am so damn tired of going all the way through a mission only to get run over by some damn jeep that turned on a dime to tap me going 3 mph and then I die...and go allll the way to back to where I saved earlier.  I heard that the computer version has manual saves...why the hell couldn't they just do this for the console version then?

I would much rather have a quick-travel function over manual saves...

yes it does let you save at any time

saving at a safe house just heals you as well as activates your rescue buddy

For some reason having the ability to save at any time in a game is something developers don't do in console games. WHY?
A few have, like Bioshock... and... eh. Hitman 2. Yeah. Those two are the only one I can remember.
Checkpoint saving, saving only at a certain location and only after fast travel is something from the past. In 2008 we should be able to save the game when we as players want to. We play games to have fun and enjoy them. Don't make games harder than they needs to be.

Meh, I prefer to be kept on my toes thant to develop a saving OCD whereby I save after my brain tells me i've done ANYTHING. The game's pretty generous as it is.

Only on the PC, I think. It's funny, seeing save points and safe houses everywhere, with me just hitting the quicksave key.

Yea its definetly not on console versions. Its kinda dumb cause it just takes way too long to get from one place to another then if you have to load up like 20 mins before.

That's why I love the PC :P Quicksave anywhere ftw. I probably won't finish Farcry for a while though now that Fallout 3 is out, and I started a second character on Fable 2 also. I still like the game a lot, it just has a lot of annoying problems that get old, and I like Fallout way more.
