Apparently, Mr. Crazy Voss did not. Trust your instinct Voss, they were bullshitting you. Did anyone else catch this? I mean, really? Do some research.
insanity
[in-san-i-tee]
1. the condition of being insane, a derangement of the mind.
2. Law . such unsoundness of the mind as affects legal responsibility or capacity.
3. Psychiatry . (formerly) psychosis.
And to further prove my point:
insane
[in-seyn]
1. not sane, not of sound mind.
2. of, pertaining to, or characteristic of a person who is mentally deranged.
3. utterly senseless.
So, Mr. Voss, which idiot told you the definition of insanity?
Please note: I'm just doing this to be an ass. Certainly there will be some prick explaining to me that he gave the correct definition; I don't really care. But did anyone else catch this?

Do you know what the definition of insanity is?
Insanity is not a technical term. It is not in the DSM-IV-TR (if it is in V, which it won't be, there would be hell to pay) which is what every mental health practitioner uses. It is a media and societal creation. Therefore, the definition for the word is whatever it needs to be.
what was the definition given in the trailer?

The definition in the trailer comes from a well known quote from Albert Einstein...who I'm lead to believe was a fairly intelligent individual.Intelligent maybe, but he also lived a long time ago. There's been some huge advancements in the understanding of psychology/neuroscience since his death.
I was operating under the assumption that everyone already knew that the definition of insanity is not strictly what is said in that trailer, though it makes sense in this case what with him failing to kill the protagonist twice (though I felt this too was obvious...)
This thread is weird.

This seems really petty and pointless.
Also, I agree with this.

It's not nice to call people pricks in advance.
but it's necessary if you want to feel like your ego and pride is still intact when someone corrects you.

It seems to be the new way to actively repel discussion in your own thread. It's like saying "Look, I just wanted to come out and say this, but I don't want to hear any of your opinions if they're different, so shut it"
The real definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over expecting different results. Jason is right, they don't have the term insanity for DSM books.
