For the people out there obsessing over completion in the first island I'd recommend making as much forward progress in the main story as possible to obtain the wing suit. It has added a whole new level of goofiness in the 2nd half of the game. I was kind of scared of heights after a while in the first area but once I got the wing suit the world was my oyster.

Yesterday I was trying to get to my next destination but I had reached the edge of a sheer cliff. At first I was ready to turn around and start looking for a new route but then I remembered I had the wing suit. Then I just shouted "Extreme!" and jumped off, gliding to my next objective several time faster than I normally would have while walking or even driving. It makes getting down from towers a lot more hilarious than the simple zip lines do. It's baffling that the story is expecting me to take it seriously when it depicts the subject of extreme sports like some kind of cartoon. My point is get the wing suit. You'll be better off.
