In short, with all the hoopla and false starts that I've heard over the year with bugs in Fez, is this a good time to play it or is the game still buggy beyond reproach?

Can I play Fez yet?
@Hailinel: At $40,000 a patch can you really blame him? I'd rather keep that money to take a break and move on to the next game, after all this games been his life for a very long time.
XBLA version is perfectly fine now, go for it. But if you like playing games on your PC, the inevitable PC version is guaranteed to be better (1080p and a better frame rate if nothing else).

It's his own damn fault for releasing a broken patch
The save game bug affected less than 1% of an installed base that's well over 100k. I'm no QA specialist but I don't think it's unreasonable for a development team of two to have missed it.

But in this case, I am the 1 percent.

It's understandable that they missed it but I don't know if I'm comfortable with the idea of these types of things being measured by a team's size or budget. I mean the consumer still pays 10 bucks regardless of whether it was made by 1 person or 100 people.
I just lust feel like we're saying "I know some of you people got kind of screwed there but don't worry it's okay because they're a small team".

So clear your cache to remove the patch. When I updated it wouldn't let me load my game so I removed the patch and the game loaded just fine. That whole issue was blown way out of proportion.
At this point, if you haven't bought it yet and your computer runs games, I'd wait for the PC version.
From what I understand, the patch issue only affected people who started playing it unpatched, then updated when they were well into the game. If you start playing with the patch installed, there shouldn't be any issues.
@Brad: I think I'm gonna jump on the Xbox 360 version. My PC set up isn't the best these days. Thanks for information.
Loaded up Fez today and had a Corrupt save. I'm really glad I did everything in the game already, but I can't help feeling a little pissed that it happened to me.

It's 10 bucks, I've had way worse problems on $60 games made by hundreds of people.

If you're playing it on 360 you're going to have about a 1 in 100 chance that it's going to go very wrong, but otherwise you'll be fine.
That's only if you had an existing save before you patched the game. If you're starting fresh with the most recent title update, you're fine.

Actually, yeah, that's true. Sorry for causing any confusion.
