So, they have announced that online gyms will be a part of the game in a similar way to what was seen in MMA.
Hopefully Jeff will create a gym when he reviews the game (assuming he will). I, personally, would love to be a part of that.

Any Interest in a Giant Bomb Gym?
" @Tonylope: Sure, if a pokemon wants to get in the ring. Actually, it would be pretty awesome to use game face to create a boxer who looked like a pokemon.... or would it? "Or we could have dudes fighting Pokemon. I've always wanted to beat the stuffing out of a Diglet.
The gym lets you spar with other members. They also have a gym rivalries system built in the game in which one gym competes with another over the course of a week or a weekend or something and they can earn points for their gym. I think the gym points will be put toward upgrading your gym with new equipment so boxers can train better and with customization items. There are some more details on the official website, but this is what I recall from reading it last week.
Also, I did a little research and the guys here definitely do review the sequels of games they previously reviewed. Just as an example, Jeff reviewed Little Big Planet and Little Big Planet 2. He also reviewed Street Fighter 4 and Super Street Fighter 4. So, I bet he will be reviewing this.
