GameCube

An action-adventure RPG for the GameCube and the first Final Fantasy since VI to be released on a Nintendo Console, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles allows four player co-op using the Gameboy Advance to GameCube link cables.

Abadon

A winged beast that has appeared in Final Fantasy games as either a Boss or a very powerful enemy.
Aggro

Grabbing the attention of a nearby enemy NPC. Usually leads to them attacking you.
Ahriman

A giant flying eye that is a very common enemy in Final Fantasy games. Its attacks usually cause a variety of status effects making this one of the most annoying enemies in the Final Fantasy series.
Air Current

Air moving with a considerable force from an area of high pressure to an area of low pressure. Used in games to slow things down, speed them up, or make them hover.
Antlions

Antlions are predatory larvae that design "sand pit traps" in order to capture prey.
Bandit

A rogue character who doesn't obey the law, bandits are known to steal from people for their own selfish gain.
Bats

Bats are small flying mammals. They may frequent caves or haunted houses.
Beetles

Beetles are among the most widespread groups of insects in the world, with the largest number of known species. They have played various roles in human culture, and have been regarded as pests, beneficial organisms and sacred beings.
Behemoth

The Behemoth is a biblical creature that is described as an immensely huge and powerful being. In video games, Behemoths appear as dangerous adversaries, most notably in the Final Fantasy and Heroes of Might & Magic games.
Blocking

The ability to stop or reduce the damage from an oncoming attack.
Bomb

Having made an appearance in almost all of the Final Fantasy games, the Bomb is a fearsome-looking creature, resembling a levitating ball of fire with a twisted grin.
Boss Assistance

When the Bad Guy finds himself heavily outmatched, why not call for some backup to even the odds? Boss Assistants try to focus the player's attention away from their leader, and may even pose a threat in great numbers.
Boss Fight

A boss fight is a culminating challenge that pits the player against one or more enemies representing a greater threat and/or difficulty than those previously faced. These scenarios typically feature unique antagonists.
Breast Bounce

The deliberate animation of breasts, either in an exaggerated fashion meant to titillate, or as a means to conform to more realistic physics.
Cactuar

Cactuar is a fast-fleeing foe from the Final Fantasy franchise. Killing one usually gets you a lot of gil or exp.
Caterpillar

The larval stage of a butterfly or moth.
Character Creation

Character Creation refers to characters created by players themselves, rather than developers.
Character Select Screen

A concept in games with multiple characters, a screen with pictures of all playable characters with the possibility of stat listings.
Charge

Charging is the action of pressing & holding down a button or particular direction on the controller. Its purpose is to build up a powerful blast or burst of energy to take out an opponent or cause critical damage.
Chimera

The dreaded Chimera was a terrifying beast that consisted of several animals combined into one. The distinct animal features were that of a lion, a goat and a serpent, though other variations exist.
Clavat

A human like race in the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles mythos.
Co-Op Tether

While in many games, cooperative modes merely add players to the game world, some games limit the distance allowed between the players at any one time.
Cockatrice

A cockatrice is a legendary creature, resembling a large rooster with a lizard-like tail.
Coeurl

A common enemy in the Final Fantasy Series. It's a cat-like beast that has two long whiskers which it uses to cast very powerful magic. Its attack, "Blaster", either paralyzes, petrifies, or instantly kills one or more party members.
Coloring

The graphical process of applying color to a blank surface.
Combining Spells

The ability to combine different schools of magic or spells to create a new or enhanced effect. Sometimes this can be done with a partner.
Connectivity

Connectivity is a feature in some game systems that enables them to connect to other systems to unlock extra content or other unique functionality.
Cooperative Play

Cooperative play in games allows humans to play together as a team to accomplish a task. Instead of playing against a human opponent, the team must defeat an AI.
Cow

They go "moo," they give milk, they're made of delicious beef, and they're dumber than a sack of hammers. They're cows.
