A rap album based on Final Fantasy VII, don't laugh, it's amazing

Yeah, I don't even know how I discovered this, maybe some of you have heard of it. I checked it in order to get some laughs but what I found was some of the most exciting hip hop I've heard in years. How the fuck did this guy manage to take the corniest subject matter and make a legitimately good rap album is beyond me but listen for yourself, I hope you will be  as pleasantly surprised as I was. Also the production is top notch, taking the game's melodies and making awesome beats out of them.
I hope this spawns an entire genre of "nerd hop" because I think it's awesome.

I came in to laugh but yer kinda right - they kinda do that right.
But a generation of "nerd hop"? I dunno I'm filing this under "exception" not "rule" :)

i think you can get an idea of it just following the lyrics. and never played an FF game cmon! Even I who wasn't much of a fan of JRPGs finished FF7 for the sake of at least being able to say if it was good or not. Still think it's overrated but I think this album will definitely change the way I see this game forever.

I'm in college with no headphones but I'll give it a listen later. Everyone is saying it's good so i'll take their word for it , but hopes are not set high by default.

I'm surprised at how much I legitimately enjoy this.

@IBurningStar: Me too, I'm STILL listening to it. It just fits so perfectly.

Glad it's not only me who's enjoying it, I was kinda worried it was just me being excessively nerdy :)

Awesome a new Mega Ran album! I thought for a second you were gonna be pimping Vinyl Fantasy 7, but this much better.

If you guys like this album, you should check his other stuff, he's got two albums based on Megaman tracks and one based on several NES games.
