The seventh numbered entry in the Final Fantasy franchise brings the series into 3D with a landmark title that set new industry standards for cinematic storytelling. Mercenary Cloud Strife joins the rebel group AVALANCHE in their fight against the power-hungry Shinra Company, but their struggle soon becomes a race to save the entire Planet from an impending cataclysm.
I resized the screenshots to 256x192 (native DS resolution) and then downscaled them quite a bit further to make the entire pictures a lot smaller. So it could actually look a bit better than this. Not sure about the minimap, though, I don't think one is needed in the game. I didn't know what else to use the bottom screen for - the dialogue maybe?
"I'd rather have a full PS3 remake than a simple port, but yeah I'd still like to play it on the go.
(Oh wait I can, remote play.... screw this then lol)"
Please, no. It's not that long since I spent 300 bucks on a 360, I don't want to spend 400 on a PS3 to play FFVII.
Anyway, it looks okay. I'm not sure the DS can handle all the FMV stuff if a standard N64 cartridge couldn't...
Edit: After some quick research, it appears the DS cards have a larger storage capacity... Still, I'm not sure if Square could legally put it out, they may have had a deal with Sony.

Sony owns the right of the PSX-version of Final Fantasy VII. And that's it. As long as the DS-Version isn't an emulated PSX-copy (which is technically impossible) Sony hasn't got anything to do with a hypothetical FFVII DS.
I've seen that first image before... I'm calling for plagiarism!
Nope. I shopped this myself. It's the standard DS-Artwork and one of the first FFVII ingame-screens google comes up with, so it's not unlikely someone made a similar one.
