Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster new screens
Contrary to what I reported the other day, the game will not be 60$, but 40$. You can preorder it on Amazon here.
Oh neat. I had no idea X-2 was getting all HDified as well! I absolutely loved X-2 so much despite everyone saying it was a steaming pile of hot garbage.
They're also the international versions. X-2 will have parts that were never translated into English.
The top image is from the HD Remaster while the bottom one is from the game running on an emulator in HD. You can clearly see how better the textures are in the remaster. And they're not just HD-ified; no, they have been altered and bettered. Look at the grass behind Auron, Wakka's hands and armbands, Lulu's face and her corset. Lulu's dress is what impresses me the most. Some work went into this remaster, ladies and gentlemen.
Wow, memory is fucking with my head. Looking through PS2 FFX shots and I don't remember the game looking like a PC game on low settings.
They changed Aurons face. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah I can't handle this. Idon'tcareifitsbettermynostalgiaiscrying.
No they didn't. They changed Tidus' face. Where did you get this idea ?
@authenticm: Look at it! It's way thinner and not as old looking.
This is the original game running on a PC emulator at higher resolution:
This is the same scene in the HD remaster, as seen in my OP:
I don't know about looking not as old, but he is definitely thinner in the original game. Look at his nose. Also, take in consideration that these are the low-poly versions of the character models. It appears that the HD Remaster will still have two real-time character models for every major character. The high-poly versions are much better, as seen in the first picture of Tidus' face in this thread.
Should I feel shame if one of the first things I noticed was how better Lulu's breast look?
Yeah.....
No. You should feel like a MAN. It means your brain and body are still working as intended.
@authenticm: I never said it didn't look better. I'm just not handling change very well. These characters and their kind of crummy looking appearance is ingrained into my mind. I wonder if playing this is going to end up being more weird than awesome at this rate. :/
Oh well, at least 13-2 is gonna be interesting and new.

...and I didn't say you said that they didn't look better. I responded to your claim that Auron was thinner and younger-looking in the HD remaster. I think he looks the same age in both shots, but he looks thinner in the original game as opposed to the new one.
This looks pretty good. I'm more interested than I was (price aside for now). I hope they do this with FF-12 next.
FFXIV went a long way to make them realize how complacent they had become, regarding the FF series. I think they're trying their hardest to make the brand feel like its actually worth something again.
I expect big things for the PS4.

Yeah, I hope XIV gave them a wake-up call. Now if only they could bring back Hiroyuki Ito for XV...
