Crystals come in many varieties, although typically they're somehow magical in games. Especially central to the Final Fantasy franchise.
Link uses one. You do it in Animal Crossing. Lakitu uses it in most Mario installments like Mario Kart and Super Mario 64. Loads of games use fishing rods! Reel in that carp!
A very powerful black magic spell from the Final Fantasy series.
Gil is the main currency used in most Final Fantasy games. It is used to buy everything from weapons to potions, food to headgear, and everything in between.
Holy is a magic spell from the Final Fantasy series. In Final Fantasy VII, Aeris uses the White Materia to summon Holy in an attempt to stop Meteor from destroying the planet.
A knife is a commonly seen object in video games. Usually used for close quarters combat, or as a cutting tool.
A spell from the Final Fantasy series. In Final Fantasy VII, this spell is so powerful that it threatens to obliterate the planet of Gaia.
A magical ore often found in RPG's. Mainly used in the crafting of ultra-powerful weapons.
Armor made from metal plates designed to protect a user from injury. Usually more beneficial than armor made from chain links or leather.
A potion is any sort of liquid, usually brewed by an alchemist, that replenishes the health, mana, or energy of the player, or causes damage to an enemy. Potions are extremely common in role-playing games.

A series of words of power, usually accompanied by a series of hand gestures, that unlocks the powers of magic for a brief moment. Can be read or just spoken from memory.
Whether they're tedious and spiral or short and quick, staircases appear in many games.
A length of exceptionally sharp metal with a handle, used for centuries as the go-to killing device for the human race. It's dead simple: you stick the pointy end in the thing you want to die. Or you could always slash them with the equally sharp sides. That works too.
A ceremonial weapon used in Hindu and Buddhist rites, symbolizing invincibility and unstoppable force. It is usually depicted as a short, double-headed club, but has appeared in other forms as a video game weapon.
