" If you've ever played any other FF game (and I assume you have), just pretend that it's not a FF game. I had completely the wrong mindset for playing this game, and despite its awesomeness I didn't like it :O "

I just can't stand the combat, it's absolutely horrendous. As I said, I was literally deadlocked in this area after 11 hours of play." Played a little bit of it. Just didn't get into it all. Then again at that stage I sort of lost interest in the FF series and I was playing Persona 3 at the time. Bit of a shame really, could've been a good game but I just hated those characters! "

gave up on it after 65 or so hours, it's an absolute shame. the airship bit with a bomb?. I totally just scraped past that part using lots of health potions.
Got stuck at a boss in a sewer type thing that kept regenerating its health everytime I got close to harming it under a desert, The game wouldn't let me backtrack at all so I had no chance to grind to get better.
stupid, stupid game. I wish they werea ll as good as IX

" Kinda excited, cause I fucking love the FF series. Any tips or anything you guys can think of? "grind the fuck out of that game. As soon as you hit the mines, grind them like hell and you will gain levels and money like mad.

" Man I fucking hated FFXII, such shit combat. "Tell me about it. I'm deadlocked in a room. No ability to backtrack. No ability to grind. I am just fucked. The second I step out of the room, I get raped nonstop by ALL THE ENEMIES EVER. And I have to run through about 1000 of them

" @Fallen189: The combat system had potential, problem was, it was a little confusing and a little silly and it wasn't very well implemented into the game. Having said that, the combat system is absolute arsegravy. I need to earn XP and licence points to use items after I bought the damn things? Puu-lease. That's just streching it out. Also I would've said those fucking characters but now that I just did, I can't anymore. I have nothing against Americans, but having a harsh American accent in a fantasy game sounds kinda off, especially if the antagonists have British accents. What is this? Hollywood? Oh sorry, that was much longer than intended. "And to think I was REALLY enjoying it. Then this happened.

" @Fallen189: @Fallen189 said:It's getting more manageable. I got up to the part where the TRAITOR died." @eroticfishcake said:Wow, that's what happened to me pretty much. Except i hadn't really played any FF game since i dabbling in a FFIX years ago. After going from liking and then hating it, i threw it down after i got to the sandsea section (that's next bit after that prison ship part). Then i picked up FFX and was like "yes, this is what i was after." Strange thing is, i went back to FFXII after finishing up X (which i liked and had enough fun with). I think i went back to it with a different mind set. It plays so different to the standard turn based JRPG. But i started grinding a bit, getting a helps from the internet, and BAM! next thing i knew i was 60 hrs into that shit. I ended clocking up about 120hrs doing all the hunts. crazy, i was surprised. i have no idea why i ended up liking it so. It's definately hard to get into, but once you do... it's got you good. SO the reason i even care about this thread, is that i started that game up again. Why? maybe i was itching for it, maybe i listened to a tune that made some old memory fresh... who knows. But this time around i am cruising past parts i was fretting over the first time (like that prison section). I think it's got a real step learning curve and if your not wanting, you going to be leaving.
