According to Gamefly, the XBOX 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII  will come on three discs. This is of course no confirmation.

I was expecting 4 so this is not a really big surprise as the 360 has pretty good compression.

Excited to get to play this! It's going to be weird playing it on a 360, which is exactly why I'm getting it :D

Wow. I was expecting it to ship on four discs at least, maybe even five. Not that it matters much. I like a bit of disc swapping with my JRPGs.

Hey, Disc swaps are no issue to me really, i grew up playing a number of games that required them and they're not that inconvienent really. 
 
When you have a game like mass effect 2 as a very recent example of a game that disc swaps but is such high quality as to negate any negative influence it shows what is possible in a recent situation. 
 
That said, i hope with the next generation of consoles when we finally get there do outphase this. From the looks of things we might be headed towards a more digital-centric means of distribution which i certainly approve of. Especially when it means i'll download a 15 gig seemless file instead of 2 discs.

I'm not really sure why multiple discs is so surprising, or that so many people have a problem with disc-swapping for that matter.

Who cares?  The game's been out for almost 2 months now and the hype is dying.  I stopped trying to get the plat trophy cause of NMH2 and Mass Effect 2.  >.>
 
Just install the discs on your HDD and don't worry about it.

Doesn't bother me at all. I still plan on buying it eventually.

That's to bad the 360 can't support the weight of games made for it.

oh this is hilarious. the gamespot system wars forum's ps3 fanboys must be going apeshit over this. 

3 discs. I'm getting the PS3 version, but even if I weren't, it isn't really so bad. It's not as if I'd be constantly swapping between discs in set intervals.
