It's a video download but well worth the terrible ~200 kb/sec I was getting. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the 'exclusive first 10 minutes' download. I don't think they had to compromise very much. I know the cinematics are going to look the same, that's obvious, but when they're actually fighting I didn't notice any FPS dips and the graphics looked extremely similar to the PS3 version. What do you guys think?

First 10 minutes of FFXII on 360
" I know the cinematics are going to look the same, that's obvious"They don't, and it isn't. Its the first and major thing were the 360 version has inferior material because of disc space restrictions. What do you think takes up most space on the bluray? The audiotracks and the cutscenes. Both have heavier compression on the 360. (though you won't notice the difference unless you have high-end audio/video output)
At the end of the day, we as gamers should only care about 2 things: How does it play? and how does it look?
The answers of both seem to be 'good'.
"At the end of the day, we as gamers should only care about 2 things: How does it play? and how does it look? The answers of both seem to be 'good'. "I agree with this, though I myself have stricter standards. The 360 version does have it's noticeable drops in quality, but it isn't completely visible to the point that it becomes an eye-scraping distraction. Good to know that 360 owners will also enjoy this game relatively the same as the other PS3 owners.
That said, if the game was broken for either platform upon release (which doesn't seem likely for either but you never know) thats a different story.
" @foggel: Why are you hoping that there isn't the usually JRPG formula? That's what the buzz around this game is about isn't? "I agree with this. It's gonna be teenagers save the world while dealing with puberty. and probably hilarious dubbing.
i'll enjoy it either way.
@foggel: I heard (mainly from the 1up active babble podcast) that it's more akin to Final fantasy X. So, linear walking from A to B with monster fights along the way. Then near the end it opens up.
However, that walk-car-crazyass airship is a JPRG trope is well over used. but some ignore it all together like persona 4 or final fantasy XII(sort of)...
Anyways, some people are in it more for the characters/setting and combat.
