I want to take advantage of the Best Buy sale and my local store only has the 360 version in stock. Am I missing anything if I buy the 360 version?

Is the FF13 360 version unplayable?
As much as I'd like to say any version of the game is unplayable, I'll tell you that the 360 version is a perfectly fine version of the game. The disc switching is a little annoying, but aside from that I didn't have any trouble with it.
" @Meowayne said:I have a PS3 but my store doesn't have a copy there. If I can get FF13 for $20 I think I probable could at least give it a shot." Yes, a slightly lower resolution and some video artefacting make a game completely and utterly unplayable. "Don't forget a stuttering framerate in Chapter 11, the backtracking chapter. Look, everyone says if you have a PS3, get the PS3 version. "
" Hell no! The game ran and looked phenomenal from my 360's HDD. No worries AT ALL.Great price too 0.0. "This. Don't be worried. I spent 150 hours with the game and got everything possible to get, and the game looked great throughout the entire time. It's playability shouldn't be questioned, and it's a really great game.
The game is the same on both versions, only a bit of a downgrade in graphical terms in the xbox 360. Does that matter that much?" Only fanboys worry about insignificant details like lower resolution. You don't want to be a fanboy...do you? *stare* "
Even for people that play Persona 3 Portable? :p
" Only fanboys worry about insignificant details like lower resolution. You don't want to be a fanboy...do you? *stare* "Resolution is a pretty big deal for some people... especially if you're used to playing on your PC at 1080p. I doubt it will be all that noticeable for you though. If the 360 version is significantly cheaper, go for it.
Oh dear... Talk about a bad first impression."This will be my first Final Fantasy game I ever play (also my first jrpg). "
Joking of course, it's a fine game but don't judge the Final Fantasy series on this game alone. If you like it, I'd highly recommend FFX. If you don't like it, I'd still recommend you try FFVII or FFIX. That's not to say you can't like both FFXIII/FFX and FFVII/FFIX, I've yet to find a single post-FFIII game that I dislike.
As for the JRPG genre, you could also give the Shin Megami Tensei series a try. Either one of the Persona games or Nocturne.
It's definitely playable. Just doesn't run as smoothly or look quite as pretty. If you can't get the PS3 version, then you might as well go for the 360 version.

yeah, 360 version is fiiiiiiiine.
I think we can all over look some grain and a slight lower resolution that you wouldn't even complain about unless you compared it side by side.... BUY IT!!!
I have played the bulk of it on a smaller HD tv and it seemed fine apart from some strangely low resolution cgi bits but since ive moved to a bigger tv and got to chapter 11 i'm noticing some horrible frame rate drops and reaaaaally ugly grass textures. The game looks gorgeous on a whole though...
so yeah, pretty unplayable.
@Laketown: I have no idea how you can actually comment on a FF game if you consider FFX a "bad" game. FFX-2 was an atrocious game, that's unquestionable. FFVI was my all-time favorite game in the series but X is right up there with the best.
The only real difference is that the cut scenes for the PS3 version are mostly genuinely better looking. But besides that nothing else is different.
It also depends on which console you play the most games on and such. I think the 360 version is just as great though.
" @Meowayne said:The framerate is actually better in the 360 version, according to reports. Its apparently a result of the slightly worse graphics." Yes, a slightly lower resolution and some video artefacting make a game completely and utterly unplayable. "Don't forget a stuttering framerate in Chapter 11, the backtracking chapter. Look, everyone says if you have a PS3, get the PS3 version. "
