I've been considering getting this, but am kind of on the fence about it. I have only played and loved FFIV and FFX. I have heard that XIII is boring, but am willing to give it a shot if someone can convince me otherwise.

I haven't played it, but I own the strategy guide and you should buy the game.
It's one of my favorite games ever, if that is worth anything.
Its a great game. Unfortunately, it receives a lot of undeserved flak from the internet masses.
I enjoyed all of my 66 hours with the game, and it was the first Final Fantasy game I have ever beaten.
I also have a thing for linear games, so the first several hours did not bother me one bit.
buy it, one of my favourite games EVER, so amazing and beautiful.
You can get it for under 20$ now. Sort of makes me regret the 60 I paid launch day. But it was worth every penny then, and it certainly is now.
" The game is kind of confusing though. I have no idea what is going on in the game so I'm going to read up on it on it's page here. Also, from what I played, it's very linear but the people here say it stops being linear after a couple hours. "
" @awesomeusername said:Yeah, I only go to those pages because I hate the exclamation mark that tells you that there's new information. It irritates me. Plus, same with you. I'm not about to read 50 bajillion pages to understand what's going on in the damn game. Why the hell not just explain everything. I had no idea what was happening when I started the game and still have no idea what's happening with all this fal' cie and l' cie and those soldier bad guy mercenary corporation guys. I know Lightnings sister turned into a l' cie and completed her focus and turned to crystal and they all were turned into l' cie. But wtf is the point of a focus? It's so damn confusing I think I just might beat it and wikipedia the story. Also, I just took what others said about the linear thing. It's saddening it stays linear for that long. That itself is turning me off from the game." The game is kind of confusing though. I have no idea what is going on in the game so I'm going to read up on it on it's page here. Also, from what I played, it's very linear but the people here say it stops being linear after a couple hours. "One of my major complaints against the game was that it never bothers to give you necessary chunks of information in the story itself. It doesn't even attempt to maybe integrate them into the environment. Instead, you have to thumb through some menus and just read pages and pages of texts. Not doing so can hinder your enjoyment of the first six or seven hours of the game. The reason why I consider this a fault is because the game is so largely story focused. It is designed to constantly funnel your forward to progress the narrative but it fails to make it understandable. If I can't understand a character's plight then I have a hard time relating to them or caring about them. Granted, the information is there for you, but it is delivered in the most half-assed way possible. The game doesn't stay linear for only a couple hours. It stays that way for somewhere between 20-30 hours. "
