Is it going to be an open world game where you can go exploring or straight up follow the story game.

Pretty sure it will play out like any other FF game. Sorta open world where you can travel to places and around a world, but follows one story path and has barriers around the edges of each world.

Probably like the majority of JRPGs where the progression is linear, the world is open, but locked out from the beginning.  By the end of the game you can go back to most early areas in the game to find items and do stuff you couldn't before.  So many JRPGs do that, and FF13 looks the same.

I think it will be like FFX, pretty linear but you can still explore the world.

The structure of final fantasy almost necessitates that it be linear, as it has a tightly scripted story progression.  Of course it will most likely allow for some degree of exploration (to carry out side quests and the like), but if its like most other final fantasy games, a player will not have full access to the world until he/she is a ways into the game.
