The PS3 lacks games and the multiplats are often better on the 360.
Still no games for PS3 huh...
Game » consists of 21 releases. Released Sep 22, 2010
" It has a PC version, and if you have a brain in your head that's the only version to care about. If idiots want to pretend an MMO clearly being made with PC as the lead skew is a sweet PS3 exclusive, let them have it. "Final Fantasy XI was definitely a console game. It played like crap on PC. The controls felt like they took a PS2 controller and tried to shove it into your keyboard.
as i sit here on my rig... which is powerful enough to laugh at games like crysis. i have to stare at the elitists who showed up and claim "mmos only good on pc". yea same shit they said about FPS games before goldeneye. how about stop crying. a good game is just that. as a avid pc gamer of more years than i bet most of you wanabe pc hardcores i have to say it.. you bitch too much. period. bring on the good console mmos. if you dont like it then go pound sand. more bandwidth for us =)
Microsoft needs to take a step back, put down the chicken wing, and realize it is way too big. They fuck up so many break throughs, so many games, so many deals because there's a freakin labyrinth of legal shit and greedy money grubbing douchebags to get through. No studio is down to put up with it, and the gamers suffer.
" @WilliamRLBaker:
Paying any money for extra maps isn't smart. It's god damn idiotic. That's like I said, PC gaming is where it's at. Free maps, all the time. Mods galore. Free as well... Ever since the Boom of DLC, a lot of companies have been getting worse with regards to Content:Money.
Activision is one of the worst. They charge way to much money for what you get in their map packs and their prices keep going up. Granted there are games that give you substantial amounts of content for the price tag. Liberty City Stories, for example, had two separate DLC packs and both had a lot of content for what you paid. Then look at Borderlands. Gearbox gave shit to nothing for content in their first two DLC packs. The third one was much better, but it's a shame it took them so long to get a DLC pack right. Mass Effect is another prime example. They're getting better at how much they give you for the price tag, but there are still times I feel cheated in regards to how much I got for paid DLC.
My stingy self might be caused by the fact that I'm deeply rooted in PC games and have been for a long time. To me, a lot of this extra content has rarely been charged for. There were expansion packs, but those were the same hit or miss for content. I generally stayed away from them unless I was heavily invested in the game in question. I will say this. PCs are louder than any console if you don't treat it right. The problem with this test is he's measuring the wrong location both times. Most of the sound on the 360 comes out of it's back end because it has the ability to stand up right, so the bottom and top sides aren't really designed for ventilation.
As for the 360 not being very loud.. If you have a defective xbox, your disc tray could produce sound like a blender. This doesn't take into account the fan in it too. That can get loud if your console is constantly overheating. The original ones were the worst. Mine RROD 3 times before I gave it up and got a new one. On top of that, not everyone has sound surrounding them when they play. If your sound comes out of the TV speakers and your console is in the same place you're going to have to crank the volume or you won't hear it. Even the Elite I bought has loudness issues. It's not like I did anything to it either. I took it out of the box, turned it on for the first time and sighed. Its fan is just as loud. Mind you the disc tray isn't shit this time.
In regards to the Microsoft's points system. I haven't been following it because I'm not currently near most of my stuff and haven't been for a months. So I haven't been making purchases with points and am unaware of any recent changes. The problem I have with the whole thing is that you have to buy points in the first place.
Making us jump through hoops to hand-cuff some of our own money onto the system is fucking bullshit. It should essentially be a dollar sign tied to the item, one that you charge to your credit card when it comes time to make the content purchase. I'm not feeling the whole buying points so you can have them available when something (could be a random purchase) comes out. It's utter nonsense. And saying I post false shit is lol. I have no reason to deceive anyone and I'm not a troll. I don't see where false shit comes into play, at all. "
"" Oh and I never said Microsoft Wanted to charge for Silver""" @WilliamRLBaker: Your completely embarrassing yourself, you yourself pointed at the part of the article where it is hinted that Microsoft wants a piece of the pie(money), the problem is you can't see the truth with your fanboy blind shield on, think about it, if Microsoft wanted to keep the same policy they have for FFIX and is the current policy Square uses, why would they deny it and forgo porting the title?, the article clearly hints at the fact that Microsoft wants to follow a policy where a piece of the pie goes their way and that's what stopping studios from releasing the games, which in some cases are games already ported and done ready for release like in Champions Online Case which the studio basically wasted money to port so that Microsoft would end up giving them the finger. Oh and I never said Microsoft Wanted to charge for Silver, so once again I tell you to please learn to read, what I said was that they want to make MMO access be a Gold benefit which would cost people extra money, again do you want me to bring out the crayons to explain? but whatever, keep living in your Microsoft blindness world, the day where you stop being a fanboy will be the day you see things clearly about all 3 console companies. "
This is a joke right? No wonder why Japanese developers are saying that their games suck when compared to those developed by the westerns.
That's just flat out being lazy, and there is no other excuse to that. I'm not against console exclusives but refusing to develop a game because the online system isn't the way you want it to be?
Wow, just WOW.
Read the Bold and Underlined Part of your quote, you are claiming existing free features will no longer be free, which is NOT true, please provide me with a list of CURRENT free features which will now be paid features, seriously I think people these days don't think before typing, it is like their brains lapse out in the middle of a conversation and they don't realize what they are saying or something, as I said you are claiming CURRENT FREE FEATURES WILL BE NO LONGER FREE AND THAT IS NOT TRUE THUS I CALL IT MISINFORMATION, get it? as I said read your own words on the underlined Bold part of the Quote and use your brain for a second." @xenexprime: Maybe you should read what I said. I said PSN isn't going to be free anymore. Some features will be paid for. I didn't say what you think I said, and perhaps you ought to not "spread disinformation" about what I posted. No matter what Sony says, the fact is that they've always claimed their online features would be free. And now they're not. And given Sony's penchant for removing features from their console, the additional fees for some PSN content should give PS3 owners (of which I'm one, by the way) some pause. "
at the moment i dont think this is much of a problem for Microsoft. until blizzard or Bioware start wanting to bring stuff like WOW and Knights of the old republic to the consoles. its not going to be that big of a deal. the last FFMMO was popular sure, but it was by no means a game changer.
> Don't you have to pay both SE and MS to play FFXI?
I only played the Xbox 360 Open Beta version (which was when they were packaging the game with OXM and it had a small beta period.) If I recall, you could play FFXI and even Phantasy Star Universe online with just an Xbox Live Silver account. I don't think you have to pay both developers to play the game.
Nonetheless, I think that Microsoft are stupid to let Xbox Live continue like this, the way it currently is. And do you want to know the several massive reasons why this is?
Well here goes:
I blame xbox live for a lot of thing like being a crappy online game service that console noobs are dumb enough to pay for when you could get the same things free on PC through stuff like valves steam.. with rea l dedicated game servers and not Xbox live peer to peer trash.
Oh and the right to mod what ever the fuck you want and post it on your server.
Then they cut out support for old xbox 1 games when you can still pay games from fucking 1996 online on PC like quake oh well. (and they still sell the games online even though the pulled the servers I find this so funny)
Not that you would want to play first person shooters on the xbox 360 or ps3 since they look and control like laggy blury ass anyway.
I really don't care about MMO's but great job microsoft your ridiculous policies is proving to be your downfall, the reason Valve is with Sony now is because of those ridiculous no mod policies, the reason UT3 had no mod support on 360 and the reason we can't have custom themes on Xbox Live, Microsoft don't plan on surviving in the console industry long do they? i'm not a fanboy infact i prefer the 360 because PSN is absolutely terrible but Microsoft are really fucking themselves.
Maybe when they start feeling the hurt will they change their policies, the MMO will suck, so i won't even bother getting it on my PS3

" @floodiastus said:No games? Who said that? The PS3 lacks games and the multiplats are often better on the 360.Still no games for PS3 huh... "
Everyone saying that MMOs should only be played on PC or MMOs on Consoles LOL obviously didn't play FFXI. The game was made for the PS2 and I don't know a single person who didn't use a controller for that game even on the PC. The game was designed and made for a controller. And they have said the same of this one. It is a SE MMO, which means it's console designed, they don't really make anything for the PC.
" @haggis: Qore is not jsut video content, Qore subscribers got Early Beta & Demo Access, Free PSN Games and Exclusive Free Themes thus why I said it had Many of the Features PSN Plus will have, your lack of knowledge about that alone speaks volumes on how clueless you are, I didn't speak about anything else cause frankly I have no time to waste with you, I am done and hope you enjoy talking to yourself. "Have to disagree qore has video content often useless demos, very few betas, and the free content is often crap I regret ever paying for a year of it, but I ended up wanting to see what it was.
I played FFXI on 360 for probably 2-3 years before I switched to playing on PC. It was overall a good experience. Xbox Silver Account is all that's required (aka free). Graphics were pretty good, but I attribute that to the fact that FFXI is an older game. It's a shame M$ is unwilling to be flexible, but it's really not that surprising.
To prove my point here's an old picture I took a few years ago.
