First, I think many of us saw this coming. I wasn't certain (none of us were) but I had a feeling.

My initial reaction? Anger. This is an action game. I WANT A JRPG. Final Fantasy games are JRPGs. This looks like it fits somewhere between Kingdom Hearts and Devil May Cry.

But, then I opened my heart. The artwork really helps. I can't put my finger on it, but it just looks more like Final Fantasy than XIII. It takes me back to Nomura's best days, designing VII, VIII, and X. In particular, this game reminds me of VIII, which is probably my favorite game in the series. When it looks the part, how can I complain.

I can't wait to play this. Nothing will stop me from finishing it, the same way that boredom couldn't stop me from finishing XIII.

Ive been hating on Square for a while, but XV actually looks kindof neat to me. I hope it ends being good and not just flash.

The game I'm most excited for from the show thus far.

I got tears in my eyes when they showed off this trailer. Then when they followed it up with Kingdom Hearts III, I completely caved in. I cried over a couple of video game trailers you guys, and I wasn't even the only one. I've seen tons of posts around the web of fellow JRPG fans that experienced the same thing. This is a thing that happened. It was ridiculous.

As for the rebranding... It's what I wanted to happen. There's too much stigma attached to the XIII name at this point, and it's become a series of it's own so calling it Versus XIII would just be even more confusing than it already was.

This, KH3 and MGS5 make me so so happy. So many years of nothing and then Nomura blows his whole wad in one go. I almost couldn't take it. It was hard to believe. Never been surprised by anything at E3 as much as this.

Yeah pretty much. If it had just been another turn styled game I probably wouldn't have given it a second look. I'm actually interested in it now after seeing it as an action game. Story and characters will probably still be awful though.

I think it looks really cool, honestly I was expecting the name change and it was a good idea.

I am totally OK with this and glad to see that the game is still happening and looking sharp. This and KH3 were part of the reason I just logged onto xboxdone.com and preordered a PS4.

I have had serious doubts about the main FF series for awhile now with the constant milking of the 13th installment. I actually thought that versus 13 was kinda trashed because of the focus on the Lightning story. Also I was never really sure what connection versus had with the main 13 universe and the fact that I started to kinda sour on those games makes this break from the very welcoming news.

Now by separating off into its own main installment it has got me interested again. Not saying a must buy but I have certainly come around from almost writing off FF games completely.

Is it action game movement though, or is it Valkyria Chronicles action movement. The one thing that wan't shown was any form of UI, so it could well be that the jumps and cover are determined by movement/action points rather then total freedom of control.

I've never actually played a FF game. Never really been interested to be honest. But this trailer has at least piqued my interest and I look forward to seeing how it develops.
