Do we know if you will be able to download this on reaslease day?
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Game » consists of 11 releases. Released Apr 19, 2012
The thirteenth game in the Fire Emblem series and the first for the 3DS. Conceived as a "greatest hits" of previous Fire Emblem ideas, it features a mix of new mechanics and older gameplay concepts.
Day one download?
I heard it might even be available at midnight launch day due to the 3DS eShop being on a timer since it updates every Thursday. If so that's pretty cool.
I hope so. It may be hard to find a physical copy if GameStop is any indicator. Really hope I'm wrong though.

It's a full-sized retail release, so it shouldn't be surprising that it's this large. And there's also the matter of the DLC.

You could probably find a 4gb card for like 5 bucks. Probably won't ship to you on the 4th though.

My mother was a saint!
I have never bought anything off the E-shop before so this may be a dumb question, but is it hard to transfer the game to a new 3DS? I have my 3DS that i'm trying to sell off to upgrade to the XL but I'm worried that they may lock it to my 3DS that I have now or make it a nightmare to transfer. Would it be as easy as taking out the SD card and putting it in the new DS once I get it?

No, the process of transferring data from one 3DS to another is pretty easy. This video demonstrates the process of transferring data from 3DS to 3DS XL, but it the receiving unit doesn't need to be an XL:

I have a 2gb sd card, but it already has super mario 3d land and push mo on it, was wondering if you can redownload things onto a new sd card if i were to swap it out for a bigger one.
You can actually just copy the data from one SD card to another, and then just use the new SD card. It's easy:
- Get a new larger SD card.
- Take the SD card out of your 3DS and insert it into a computer.
- Copy all of the files on the SD card onto the computer.
- Swap the old card for the new, and move all of the data you just copied onto the new card.
- Insert the new card into your 3DS.
Voila, it is done. I followed these exact steps in moving from the 2GB card included with the 3DS to a 32GB card, and I didn't have any problems.
Wonder how many people will download vs buying at retail? I have a large SD card and would love all my games on it-bit not sure how I feel with the Nintedo download games being attached to a system instead of an account. I guess I'll have to see how hard it will be to get a physicial copy and decide then.
@JCGamer: Given the manufacturing delays I imagine there will be a fair amount of people going to download route. I know I was planning on picking up the game retail until I was told that my reservation was on backorder.
