Fire Emblem Recognition Blog

Hello everyone and welcome to the Fire Emblem wiki project and community blog! I was inspired by the wiki editors and how much we made an impact in the Giant Bomb community these past months. I love working along side with these guys. This blog is dedicated to the folks who are proud to be a Fire Emblem fan.

Here are the Fire Emblem folks! Please give them some recognition for their hard work.

Meet the Fire Emblem Community

It's a short list since I'm not familiar with the Giant Bomb community. Plus, I have not been acquainted with the rest of FE community. If I miss you, feel free to comment. I'll add you and your introduction. For folks I wrote about without asking for consent (ArbitraryWater, Chalphy, Hailinel, and Video_Game_King), feel free to correct me or tweak your profile information. I'll be happy to change things to make this blog better for everyone.

Wiki Projects

Fire Emblem is a prolific franchise with many video games (14 so far) which makes it a challenge for us. Plus, some games are not licensed for North America and remained in Japan. Some of these games are not available, and the language barrier is a hindrance as well.

The biggest challenge is the sheer amount of characters (over 200 characters). It's what drives us wiki editors to attempt a 100% no matter how insane it is. We all try our best to make these wiki pages complete. It's thanks to the Fire Emblem wiki editors that every game page has an article. We can do it.

Here's the list of games and characters in the Fire Emblem franchise.

Thank you and good luck everyone!

This is a dream right?

#3 Posted by StarvingGamer (8283 posts) -

Hm, not sure what this is, but I like being on lists.

I am a Fire Emblem fan insofar as I have played every FE game made commercially available in the US.

Maybe this will give me something to do during downtime at work.

Wait, that blog where I rambled on about Persona 4 box art is related to Fire Emblem? I imagine you could have waited a week.

#5 Posted by pyromagnestir (4324 posts) -

I don't entirely understand what is going on in here but I think I like it. Yay Fire Emblem!

#6 Posted by ArbitraryWater (11792 posts) -

I'm not entirely what this is or why I am being cited, but whatevs! Fire Emblem is cool!

@Bocam:

You can say it that way. Anything is possible if we have a bigger group. I only have four Fire Emblem games (Fire Emblem, Sacred Stones, and two of Ike's games) , so I'm trying to complete every character page for those games.

@StarvingGamer:

I added you and your comment as your little intro. Feel free to tweak it if you like.

@pyromagnestir: @ArbitraryWater:

Oh, I'm sorry for the confusion. I usually separate wiki projects and recognition blogs. Recognition blogs are to give shout outs to the wiki editors who working independently or in teams on a wiki project. It's like community spotlight pages but in greater depth. Here, I posted some examples to give a better picture.

ArbitraryWater, are you okay with your intro?

@Video_Game_King:

You had a lot of blogs for me to skim through, so I ended up using CTRL + F to find the word Fire Emblem after reading two pages of blog. Feel free to change them if you want. Is the intro I wrote for you good?

Edit:

Thank you guys for your support!

Yea, pretty much.

#9 Posted by LordAndrew (14426 posts) -

It's OK, that's how everyone reads VGK's blogs.

#10 Posted by ZombiePie (5684 posts) -

I should make a version of this but for wiki editors who do game credits...there are like three or four of us left.

Great job guys and thank you for your hard working :)

I am a new fan for this franchise, and these information will help me to understand this franchise more.

Is it sad that when I see a forum thread mention "the Fire Emblem community", the first thing that I think of is "PEMN", and then I feel the urge to stab someone in the throat?

Nonetheless, good work, you guys. Fire Emblem is a good series that is unfortunately largely discussed by assholes, and could use more positive fans.

@LordAndrew: @BisonHero:

Thank you!

@awadnin:

I added you. Welcome to the Fire Emblem community!

Edit:

I hope you enjoy the Fire Emblem games.

@ZombiePie:

That sounds like a fantastic idea! It will motivate others to add game credits. I haven't got much experience with those type of wiki work. I just worked on my first game series wiki page.

#14 Posted by LordAndrew (14426 posts) -

Adding credits is time-consuming and rather unpleasant. I hope it's an area that improves with the redesign.

It is being improved, or it is time-consuming and rather unpleasant?

Huh didn't think about that both I guess. In reality I just intended to confirm that Dave is personally overseeing improving person pages and credits.

Also I was totally joking about the credits thing.

@ZombiePie:

Awesome. The few times I've tried to fill in game credits has been a hassle. I'm more likely to give it another go if it's easier!

I approve of this post, Nice effort and thought OP!

Thank you!

Fire Emblem is the only series that motivated me to add a section to the wiki. I've loved the series for years. Can't wait for the 3DS iteration to come out!

@fishmicmuffin:

Thanks! I added you to the blog.

#23 Posted by Chalphy (35 posts) -

A very good intro to the community. Hopefully this will build interest in the series.

@Chalphy:

Thank you and good job on the Fire Emblem wiki pages!
