The defining GBA title
Let's face it, everybody is sick and tired of not being able to play any Fire Emblem Titles in North America....until now. A new Fire Emblem has hit NA by storm on the GBA and another on the GC later this year, but is this worth it?
Graphix: Unique! I loved the graphical design in this, the field graphics were good and easily deciphered. The characters were good on the field, and incredibly good in the battle sequences, in fact, the graphix were superb in the battle sequences. Also, the characters were in 2d style paper form for the cutscenes and it worked great. There were drawn pictures for the important parts and it just added to the value of the game. Everything that was expected from a GBA title and a lot more!
Sound: The epic themes in this game just rock you. Every part of you wants to triumph when the music starts and ur heart starts pounding. Battle sequences had good sound and everything worked as it should but the music was over the top amazing. There was also a gallery that you can unlock every song in the game and it's another one of those unique unlockables that makes u appreciate this games value.
Gameplay: Firstly, i loved Advanced Wars 1 and 2, and i love these kinds of games. But this game was the best of the best. Seriously. The flawlessness of the battles was incredible and the system of using weapons is just right as well. The fact that if one of your characters dies, they don't come back, just added to the fun for me. You always try to find ways with losing as few men as possible while beating the level to the best of your ability. It was really perfecting the level and i couldn't stop playing. The stats in the game really mattered and it made it more strategic. FLAWLESS in this catagory.
Story was beautifully written and just kept me going. Characters were magnificent and you really connected with them...right up until their unfortunate doom(possible doom). The game shines in difficulty...this game is not for the average person, especially on HARD DIFFICULTY! This game is brutal, to lose nobody through the whole game while playing on hard, and trying to gain every person possible is absolutely mind boggeling. Doing this might take you up to 50 hours of unrecorded playtime. Also, this game is fairly long, with 30-32 levels plus the bonus sidequests, this game should take a normal person roughly 15-20 hours to complete the first time through.
DEFINITE BUY, especially for people who like these type of games. For those who don't, if you'd like to try them, there's no better to try then Fire Emblem for the GBA.
