So there's a demo out on Xbox and PS3. Right. Now.
I think it's pretty cool. What do you think?
Edit:
Should probably talk a little about the demo.
There are two characters with one level each.
You can play as Kenshiro and duel Jagi in a one-on-one boss fight or play as Rei in a tutorial of sorts.
It plays a lot like Dynasty Warriors (big shock, right?) except it's amazing.
Download it.
Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage
Game » consists of 8 releases. Released Nov 02, 2010
A spin-off of Koei's third-person brawler series (known as "Warriors"), Ken's Rage is based on the hyper-gory post-apocalyptic action anime and manga series Fist of the North Star. You are already dead.
Demo's out.
i played the demo and i was very impressed by it. the combat was solid. the attacks were fluid and really looked like they had amazing power behind them. the special attacks were awesome to see in motion and the verocity of them against the enemies was somethin that made me say "oh shit! lol" or "hell yea!" many times. i started playing the demo at first with kenshiro. played that part twice with japanese and english voices. figured playing with rei would just be the same thing but you end up fighting jagi with rei but was relieved to see it was more of the actual game. i didn't even know there was more than one special attack that could be picked so that was a nice thing to find out about. sortof bummed that kenshiro has a unique finisher but rei doesn't but i can get over that small nitpick. lol i'm definitely looking forward to the game's release more now. i wish i had the series on dvd or even on netflix instant watch because i would make it a real purpose of mine to watch the series all over again.
I just played the demo and I'm really psyched about this game now. The combat felt good and doing a finisher felt really satisfying. That coupled with the Japanese voice acting just upgraded this to a must buy for me.
Guess thats one more to pick up in this crowded month.
If you play the demo try it with both characters because they have different levels.
Downloaded it yesterday and really enjoyed it. I've been harsh on Dynasty Warriors games in the past, but seeing the source material behind this and a genuinely altered play-style, I feel it's worth a recommendation.
Really looking forward to the release now.
Just beat the demo and it really doesn't feel like a Warriors game. Plays more like a character action game along the lines of a God of War.
Except for that damn block/strafe; I really wish it'd lock on. Bah! That's just a pet peeve of mine. I imagine there'll be plenty of characters and individual stories to get your value from the full game.
I turn a complete 180 on this game after playing the demo. I probably wont get this day 1 but it did give me hope on the 2 other dynasty warrior like game Ni-Oh, Trinity: Zill O’ll Zero (even though it look like a modern knock off of Forever Kingdom) and Warriors: Legends of Troy.
