    The Floaters are genetically engineered and cybernetically enhanced beasts, serving as soldiers and agents of terror for the invading alien forces in the first X-COM game.

    The Floater's brains are smaller than a normal human brain, but their sensory organs are well developed. Their hearts, lungs, and digestive systems have all been removed and replaced by a single life support system. This support system allows them to survive under extremely harsh conditions and (with the built-in anti-gravity unit) unsteadily float through the air.
