Medium Rare, well done?

Do you like no fog, fog that regenerates after you've left the immediate area, or fog that doesn't regenerate?

Personally I like no fog, it makes the game feel a lot more realistic, as if you're watching a satellite feed of the battle whilst issuing orders.

Depends on the game, oldy style games with no satellites, they should have regenerating fog. But if you have a giant mech, but can't see 3 metres in front of you, something is  wrong.

There's a fog of war around my house, and an indian in my cupboard. This is no coincidence.

I like my fog of war GONE, I hate it!

There is no fog of war in osaka, it is overexposed hell...like RE4

I like my fog of war dissipated. I'm not a fan of that stuff, although I can tolerate it in a few games (overall don't play many RTS games).

I think Fog of War is what makes Multi-player RTS games more interesting... It adds the extra dimension in creating defense or offense strategy.

Sure enough, there are satellites, etc. but even they can't watch all terrain at all times, right? That is why you create towers, post sentries, or patrol areas...

I am all for Fog of War. The only time I turn it off (some games have the option) is when I want to take it easy.

I like the fog of war that is COMPLETELY BLACK. And it goes grey and see through when you discover stuff. I hate when the whole map is scouted out without you even doing anything. I really hope SC2 has the good kind of fog.

it totally depends on the game.

many games use the fog of war like actual fog in the morning.

fog of war should only be used in giant maps or when looking uphill.

A lot of the time I hate fog of war, especially when the view distance is horrifically short. The older Age of Empires games are a clear example of this: since when could a dude sat on top of an elephant only see in a three foot radius around him? It just doesn't make sense. I like fog of war to have quite large view distances, unless the terrain/environment should negate this (thick forrest, a snow storm etc.), and I like the whole map visible, just not the enemy units. I don't think it makes sense for the terrain to be hidden; what sort of commander goes into battle without having sent out some form of scouts before hand to recon the land? None I know.
