Anyway, I always have loved fog in games. People think that just because a game enters the modern era, it need huge draw distances and what-not. I strongly disagree. Sure, Fallout 3 benefited alot form draw distances, but check out SOCOM: Confrontation. I remember back in the day, when it was about strategy. Now, every game on DG is just "I can't run down the middle or else I'll get sniped!!!" What happened to lurking in the shadows, being stealthy?
How would a modern Silent Hill game be without fog? (Or any horror game for that matter.)
I really appreciate fog in video games when it's done right. Sometimes it's used out of laziness, sometimes it's used for atmosphere, and sometimes people can use it for that nice stealthy approach.
Take the blizzard in the second level of MW2. The blizzard hid your approach and let you be a little sneaky. Imagine fog instead of snow, and imagine a different setting. Fog has so much potential. I just love fog so much!
Awww, I took the time to create a not spam article in the fog section and I didn't even get the quest!
Fog
Concept »
Fog plays an important role in many games. In games like Silent Hill, it's an atmospheric element. In other games, it's artificially added to reduce draw distances to save memory and increase framerate.
I love fog!!!

I don't like fog. Every time there's fog, someone dies...on that side.

I'm gonna assume that since this thread was created when the quest system was still new, that this was merely, a misguided attempt to get the Into the Fog quest. In other words, you don't actually love fog." @AlwaysAngry said:

While I like fog in the real world, I've never felt it's been executed right in a game - in particular, if I'm playing a driving game, or if we get a current-gen Grand Theft Auto game with country environments like San Andreas, I'd like to see if they can properly execute a light fog in the game. In particular, I like that light morning mist, the kind that obscures things way out in the distance, but up close just clings to the ground. Something like this:
I already got that quest before I posted this..." @End_Boss said:

I also edited the SOCOM 3 page.
Go ahead, try me, but you can't harm the love I have for fog!
Doing the fog someone usually dies and ends up on a telephone pole. Rain is no better, people go crazy and I see weird people limboing.
Do you love all fog? How about some Kryptonite fog - Superman 64
