It's been over a week and a half since they said Apple had it for review.  It doesn't take more than a week at most for most apps.  Where is the App?

Going insane waiting...it's so hard to surf GB on an iPhone!

Apple is sporadic about their approval process. Seems Sunday night is usually the night for the green light.

It's possible it's approved and they're ironing stuff out, dunno though

I've been waiting for it too... I keep checking every half hour to see if it went up on the app store

You people have way too much time on your hands.

I've been waiting for it too. I work at a pool during the summer and it would be awesome to be able to watch the Endurance Run and stuff on my phone during my downtime (which is often)... So I've been pretty anxious for the app!

I'm hoping it wasn't declined by Apple or anything, forcing a delay. I keep hoping it will show up any day now.

@Sargus: Same here. I hope it wasnt declined by apple for not being compatible with the new 3.0 software (every new app must be compatible with 3.0 since May 7th/2009). I figured it wouldnt since it's website-based.

I was exaggerating when i said i check every 30 min, stillmotion, I really only check once or twice a day. I just cant wait to watch the Endurance Run on the fly.

Dave said on Twitter that the app was rejected.

Agreed, I really want to see how it works out.

Dave said it was because of the bandwidth usage of the video's.

Where is the app?!!!!!

#17 Posted by LordAndrew (14426 posts) -

Have you read the thread?

#18 Posted by snide (2413 posts) -

The apple gods rejected us two weeks ago. Unfortunately it was because of our bandwidth hogginess so we have to reincode our entire video library. We're about a week away from a new submittal.

@snide: Ouch - how about allowing videos to be downloaded to the device only when the user is on Wi-Fi? Unless it does this already, this would be so much more useful than having to stream videos over horribly strict data networks.

Just curious could this app be applied to a pre or would you have to completely redo it?

#21 Posted by TheBeast (1931 posts) -
@Heartagram: It wouldn't work on a Pre - there's various people working on mobile versions of the site that would probably work though.

@TheBeast: We've got a better solution I think. Not gonna mention it till we get approved first though.

Glad for the update, been really looking forward to this as have a lot of my friends.

I'm just glad it wasn't denied for the same reason the NeoGAF app was, otherwise we'd never get it. :(

#25 Posted by slyspider (1206 posts) -

ok so any news on the app? i want er on the go!!!!!

#26 Posted by MattyFTM (14369 posts) -
@slyspider: From Daves Twitter:

"The Giant Bomb iPhone app got resubmitted to apple. If we fail this time I'm just gonna build a mobile version and be done with this nonense"

What was the problem with NeoGAF's app?

Site content.  Apparently Apple isn't cool with all the cursing and bizarre (though mostly work safe) stuff posted on GAF. :\

Apple have been inconsistent about that which they find to be "obscene, pornographic, offensive or defamatory content or materials of any kind (text, graphics, images, photographs, etc.), or other content or materials that in Apple's reasonable judgement may be found objectionable by iPhone or iPod touch users."

Unfortunately, this judgement has applied in the most flimsy of circumstances - RSS readers for example that may include some feeds with curses - that Apple may simply notice that Giant Bomb has the occasional cursing and is therefore "objectionable". In which case, @iAmJohn would be correct in assuming we'd likely never see it.

I hope this gets out there even though I don't own an iPhone. I'm interested to see what this "better solution" is though.

Arrgh!  I need Giant Bomb videos on the go.  :-(

This app would have come in handy SO many times in the past few weeks.  I'll never get caught up on Endurance Run without it.

i dont care lol...i just download them from youtube and watch them on my MP4
