Arma 3 Alpha Lite Steam Gift Thread

OH HAI

I just received the three Alpha Lite invitations, which I have no use for. I figured I could ask here if anyone was interested in testing the single player portion of the alpha.

Dunno how to do this. Let me know your Steam ID and I'll send it to you, I guess.

No, you can't buy the "Alpha". "Alpha" is a state of the development, like "Beta" which is like a pre-release. What they're selling on Steam is the game Arma 3 but since it's not finished yet you can play the Alpha version. When the Beta comes out you'll be playing the Beta not the Alpha anymore without paying anything.

Err.. that was exactly what he was asking. No need to be so uptight. To answer the question, yes if you buy the alpha you get access to the Beta and the full game when it's released. Full perks of the different purchases can be seen here!

So one of my friends got the alpha lite gift from another friend and said that it doesn't allow you to play multiplayer. Taking that for true, just a heads up to those asking for one and being disappointed that you can't play online.

I would've sent him one, but it seemed both his GB and his Steam accounts are barren wastelands, so I couldn't get an invite out. Garfield518 got in on that shit instead.

@myniceicelife: Yeah, I didn't bold and underline that in my first post, but I figured it didn't matter too much, being a free thing. Anyone I know who is actually interested in this will have pre-ordered, I feel like the Alpha Lite invites are just for system testing and control familiarisation.

I would ask for one, but I'mma hopefully be buying the game on Monday so I guess I can wait!

I also have 3 alpha keys. Steam ID is the same as my GB name. Ditto on what Subs said about being a duder and whatnot. First three who wants a key will get it, everyone else will get an imaginary cookie.

Just a heads up, the alpha lite that this invite gets you only lets you play the tutorial stuff. no multiplayer or anything. gotta but the game for that.

Google searches seem to indicate its a known bug but it looks like their site is down right now so I cant see what the solution is.
