What IS the Bomb Squad? - Bomb Squad

I've been browsing the board in search of something that would provide me an answer or a clue, but have turned up nothing. It all just seems like a bunch of random crap dating back to 2011.

It's a specialized unit found in many police and military forces in the world that is called in action when explosives are involved.

A common mean of explosives disposal involves shooting said explosives in the sun using a giant slingshot (commonly referred to as the "murder slingshot").

For lack of a joke answer, I always thought "bomb squad", when used on this site (and not in reference to an actual bomb squad), meant Jeff, Ryan, Brad, Vinny, and Patrick, and potentially Drew, Dave, and Alexis as well.

Yeah, the term Bomb Squad dates back to when community game nights were called "Bombing Runs," and participants in such events were called the "Bomb Squad."

Also, multiple e-mails used the term to describe the staff.

Yeah, this is what I always thought. 'The Bomb Squad' is the staff.

They diffuse time bombs, not like conventional time bombs, I mean bombs that actually travel through time, and space trying to assassinate various authority figures of the past, and future.

This is what I have been led to believe anyway.

Well, I could be wrong, but I believe the Giant Bomb Squad is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.

Bomb Squad: most commonly referred to Jeff, Ryan, Brad, Vinny and Patrick being that they are the 5 main duders and they also do the podcast together. Drew, Alexis, Snider and any other member of the GB staff can also be grouped in as a member of "The Bomb Squad".

Also referred to a colony or gathering of Giant Bomb fans.
