They haven't had too many british dudes on the bombcast, and the ones they have had are mostly developers. Anyone else like to hear him have a discussion with the GB crew?
Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw on Bombcast?
He's also her in Australia last I heard, so that would probably add some difficulty.
Mayhaps he'll wind up on a podcast if they come out here for PAX?
I'd listen to it if Croshaw didn't show up "in character" and just had a regular Bombcast conversation. But I'm certainly not clamoring for it.
I like Yahtzee, but he's at his best when he's behind the production of his videos. I doubt whether he'd be nearly as entertaining without his script. Anyway him and the GB crew are very different types of reviewers, he wouldn't get along with Patrick for one.
Now i want Yahtzee in it just to hear him and Patrick debating.I like Yahtzee, but he's at his best when he's behind the production of his videos. I'd listen to it. But then I listen to every bombcast so that isn't saying much. But I'm sure he'd be fine. As an aside, anyone else think the quality of his video's dropped significantly when he stopped picking songs relevant to the game and instead got a proper theme song? The songs really added something extra, for me. Now I just mute the theme until the talking starts.
No thanks. Vastly different type of reviewer. His reviews are as much entertainment as information. He actually has done a lot of "straight" writing before his Yahtzee thing took off.
He wrote (writes?) for Hyper and PC Powerplay in Australia (prominent magazines when magazines were actually prominent) for several years in a relatively straight role. He's also a pretty nice dude based upon my singular meeting with him many years ago.
No thanks.
If he were to appear as himself instead of his "Yahtzee" persona, I might be interested, but I doubt that would happen. I doubt that's what Yahtzee fans want from him anyway.
The people that say no to this idea are laughable, the people that think this could happen are even more laughable.
If this does happen someday, I'll pour ketchup all over this post and eat it.
Nah, I don't think so. Besides, Ryan is enough of an asshole to go around.
...
...
...that didn't come out quite right.
EDIT: All right, I feel I should give a serious-faced answer. Look, I really like the Bombcast, and I really like Yatzhee, but they would go together about as well as gravy biscuits and bananas. Yatzhee has said before that, while his schtick is for entertainment, he also doesn't express opinions that he doesn't have. They may be exaggerated, but he doesn't seem to think along the same lines as the Bomb crew, not even close, and I think they'd walk away from that podcast slightly annoyed at each other. I just wouldn't bet on it being a good mix.
That guy is still around bitching about how old obscure computer games are better then the games of today?
@MariachiMacabreIf that's true then I would actually maybe enjoy hearing the discourse between him and the crew.No thanks. Vastly different type of reviewer. His reviews are as much entertainment as information. He actually has done a lot of "straight" writing before his Yahtzee thing took off.

it has potential to be interesting. has there ever been any mention by a GB dude about him, veiled or otherwise?
Yahtzee is a bit strange, as he doesn't like to be referred to by his "real" name for whatever reason. Having him on one of the E3 podcast would be interesting as he's actually fairly laid back outside of Zero Punctuation and has a sense of humor not altogether dissimilar than the Bomb Squads (go check out his LPs on the youtube. They're pretty damn funny in an almost ER way. Though the commentary and game play are recorded separate.)
Personally I'd rather see him and the Game Station crew do something together.
Er.. no. Maybe I'm biased because I've met the guy in person but I really don't care for much of anything he ever has to say. I don't even know how he can say that gaming is his hobby when he doesn't even enjoy 90% of the games he actually plays.
I wouldn't mind if Yahtzee made a guest appearance on a Bombcast but I'm not sure how well it would go. Real time discussion and debate is a very different format from what he usually does. There are some strong personalities on the Bombcast so I could see certain crew members jumping all over something he says without giving him a chance to defend his point. I'm not saying they shouldn't call him out on things - because that's part of what makes the crew great is that they are quick to point out bullshit - but I'd just worry that the force and tone with which they do so might end any meaningful dialogue. If the crew is in a light-hearted, joking around mood it could be great. If they're feeling snippy, it could be a disaster.
