So I know they said it as a joke, but I would totally donate $10 to $20 towards getting that USB drive fixed, just to watch a regular video segment of Brad going back and finishing those old saves. Any idea how we could actually get that off the ground?
Brad's USB drive
Brad said it's not guaranteed to work. Imagine if people donated and that was the outcome. Would not end well.
@Winternet: @jking47: @huntad: He said something about a lot of other saves being on there, and said that if he recovered them he would promise to go back and finish all the games he had on there. That's what the OP is talking about. Making videos for giant bomb out of Brad playing the games that were on there....not just to recover the ME saves.
That being said, I agree that is something they would probably not want to accept donations for. With the data recovery not being guaranteed and all.

I think they won't be accepting donations for shit anymore...
I don't see why they wouldn't. We may be part of CBS now, but Giant Bomb remains largely "independent", in a sense. I don't think CBS would want to try to recover the data in Brad's USB, but they'd be more than willing to accept money from us to do it. I get that it may not work in the end, but if it guarantees a new good, long series, I say the gambit is worth it.
Either way, they have my axe. And possibly my money.
I bet it wouldn't even work. If we were talking about PC files being lost than fine but for an Xbox 360 I doubt a place could recover all of the data on a USB device and make it recognize properly on a 360.
"Cool idea": Contact the company, send the USB drive in, write an article on it - independent of outcome (how it works, likelyhood of working, etc.) I'd think it was interesting. Sure it might be a bit more techy - but it's something most of us will or has experienced at some point.
If it works, new potential feature for the site ("Watch Brad not pay attention while playing these 'old' games")!
As much as I'd like to see some content where Brad plays some old 360 games, I'm already paying 60 bucks a year for that exact kind of content, so I don't feel as if I should pay more.
Give me an old console party every month or two, the SNES party, Nostalgiafest and 3DO TNT were some of the best content in the last year. Maybe that makes them sad, but that's the more entertaining part of the site.

I like this idea, except the 3DO was boring to me. Never liked the 3DO....

Doubt it, especially if it said that in the agreement. People will likely only donate $1.00 and their complaints will go silent when people realize that if it happens.

you know what would be a "better" idea?
Mass Effect trilogy Endurance Run w/ Brad :P
This. An endurance run of all three games would be interesting, though it might be even more interesting for them to find a "cult classic" or something that most people haven't played and do an ER of it. Or maybe System Shock 2. Yeah, let's see an ER of that.

Maybe I'll kick in if he can get the Mile High Club achievement in CoD4
I thought he already got that? Granted, I didn't watch that entire video, but I thought he got it...

Do you work for Giant Bomb?
More videos of Brad playing games badly for the comments to go crazy on? And people would've paid for it? Can't imagine that ending well..
