Do you know a better bombcast episode than this?

The episode is the 10-13-2009 edition with guests Adam Boyes and John Vignocchi and it just has tons of classic moments.

Love the bit with Vinny and Johnny about the favorite grandma.

Edit: Other good ones:

  • 8/11/2009 Jared Rea (Michael Cera)
  • 12/14/10 Jeff reads Wii-ware releases in slow-mo
  • 7/12/11 Ryan the Narc
  • 5/8/12 pretty good ep with Adam Sessler "e3 mystery solved!"
  • beginning of 5/22/12 Dave's wedding and eating friend's leg
  • 6/26/12 1st & 2nd e-mail questions bat or knife & place nose somewhere else on body
  • 7/10/12 HAM radio ep
  • 11/12/13 Vinny has fun hosting with Drew and apprentice Jeff and apprentice Brad
  • 2/4/2014 Vinny has fun hosting again with Jeff out
  • 2/18/14 beginning of BEEF mails
  • 5/13/14 VInny hosts an interesting one with guests Danny and Greg Kasavin
  • 12/2/14 Everyone comes to SF for GOTY content (includes Vinny sewage story)

While those are both absolute stompers I have never, ever laughed throughout a podcast as much as this one.

Take two!

I don't remember the episode but it's the one of the ones where Vinny is studying to get his Ham Radio license and Ryan is questioning him about it. I remember listening to it over and over on a roadtrip.

4/21/2009 - How many bears does it take to bring down a T-Rex?

8/17/2010 - First appearance by Jeff Green.

11/12/2013 - Brad Muir and Jeff Green standing in for Brad Shoemaker and Jeff Gerstman.

That episode is fan-fucking-tastic. It single-handedly got me through collecting those damn feathers in Assassins Creed II.

However!

The episode where Jeff/Vinny/Ryan do their Will Wrights "Mathletes" bit at the beginning is still my favorite.

@drebin_893:Yes! This is exactly the one I came in here to mention! It's one-of-a-kind.

They take all the frustration of "being forced to re-record an entire goddamn episode" and fall into a mad, punchy delirium. The way that they keep realizing they're making callback jokes to a podcast that doesn't exist and getting more and more exasperated is so wonderful.

Also, Jeff busts out the keyboard. It represents the best of the scrappy living-in-the-basement "Classic Giant Bomb" era to me.

And it's only an hour and fifteen minutes long! How's that for crazy.

I remember a lot of the email segments from the "beef" era - where people would email in about various regional beefs being totally hilarious. Also whatever podcast had the story about the Lucasarts shit bandit was glorious.

@walkertr77: The Gerstmann era was amazing. The buzzer and australian beef were great recurring themes.

There are a lot of great ones. I like the one with the question about taking a cat that teleports or a dog that shits chicken and dumplings.

@hatking: That is the one that always sticks out in my memory. I remember exactly what I was doing when I was listening to that one.

The Beef Era was fantastic. So many laughs. Let's not forget about the shit bandit and all of the other crazy E-mails Jeff pulled around that time!

The Beastcast from a few weeks ago is in contention for best of all time if we count those. Bakalar really adds a whole lot.

It's funny to think that we used to get Jeff, Vinny and Ryan on the same podcast on a weekly basis. That almost seems like a mythical dream-team, now.

One that comes to mind for me is the 8-7-12 episode. It's just Jeff, Ryan and Vinny and there's a bunch of great stuff in there.

One of my favorites is 9-11-2012. Papa Murphy's and 9/11, Vinny's hobbies, obscene shirts, wrestling hair, the world's worst Subway, CHINA DON'T CARE.

That one where they talk about car-fucking is good, but I don't remember which episode it was off the top of my head. Somewhere around late 2013 maybe?

That's a high standard to compare anything to, let alone another GB podcast.

Pax 2008 and 2009 were legendary. I think this one is my all-time favorite though. Some great moments:

  • Jeff and Vinny totally punk Ryan
  • Ryan accuses Vinny of being Brett Ratner after hearing his pitch for a World of Warcraft movie
  • "If Ed Hardy ate Master Chief and took a digital shit" - Ryan Davis discussing the Ecco Halo t-shirts
  • Brad drops the ultimate knowledge bomb: "But the sun is bigger than the moon so how can a day named after the moon come before a day named after the sun?" (this during a debate about which day starts the week)

I've listened to every Bombcast exactly once (aside from youtube clips), and you're right, I remember that being the one that made me laugh the most.

The late 2008 episode that they recorded after losing the original. Highlights include the sudden appearance of Howard Phillips and his Slalom-related consulting, way too much casio keyboard and Jeff dropping mad NWA knowledge.

The Adam Sessler Podcast from May 2012 (Can't remember which tuesday, but I think it's the second podcast that month), that's one of my all time favorites. Any E3 podcast really, mainly the NEVER talk from 09', or Johnny V making a fool of himself in 2010.

No bad choices here but there is one moment that sticks out to me that I still cant help but laugh at. I cant remember if the entire episode is worth calling out here but on this episode Ryan comes back from a vacation at Disneyland and somehow the conversation devolves into oatmeal baths and tomato sauce and it's all just fantastic.

Here's the conversation by itself:

Whatever the bombcast episode was where they were talking about swearing and Vinny just casually dropped "cunt" into the conversation. That sticks out the most in my mind.

Ryan being a Narc is also a classic.
