For the last few months, I've really come to love hearing Drew on the Bombcast. With him on board I get to discover all kinds of crazy immersive sims--not to mention llamas--and he almost always has some great anecdote about military history or some museum he just visited. Duder brings an interesting perspective to the show and is just cool and it's great to hear/see more of him.

So, Drew appreciation thread?

I don't like playing all those sim games myself (I generally find that stuff pretty dull) but it's great hearing him talk about it especially since he is so enthusiastic most of the time. I also feel like he is the king of making really funny jokes that go by unnoticed by the rest of the group. Also llamas.

It's that surströmming he ate. Look at how Bodega managed to land a job at Sony.

He also seems to be only one who actually goes out and does stuff.

Drew's not as exciting as some of the other members, but goddamn he's interesting. He's someone I'd like to work with on anything - balls out crazy determined on the job. Remember that 100+ page notebook of his own personal notes he did for that flight sim? Insane.

Drew reminds me a lot of one of my very best friends when I was younger: heavily into slightly more obscure PC games that I always greatly appreciate, but can never really get into myself, and brainy as fuck. I wish we had remained better friends (my friend, not Drew,) and not only because he's now the owner of a large, very profitable business, but because dude's interesting!

@yummylee: The "I'm dressed as a speed bump!" comment (from the most recent bombcast) didn't get nearly enough laughs.

Drew makes me feel like shit for spending my days off at home doing...nothing. He's like some kind of super robot man with infinite interests.

This. They should get rid of Drew cause after every bombcast I feel like I'm wasting my life playing video games. That's bad marketing right there!

But seriously I enjoy Drew a lot, though it is quite obvious that he doesn't play as much as the rest of the guys (which is fine) and because of that he is mostly silent during some segments of the podcast. I also would like to add, that I'd like to hear more Rorie. That is all

I lost it pretty hard at that. Really nice delivery

Ever since that North Korea video, Drew has been the number one in my eyes.

Hell yeah Drew's the man! His increased profile on the site has been brilliant to see and hear.

Same here too. A situation made much worse by the fact I was driving to work when he said it. Some very slight swerving might have occurred.

The sim section gives me nothing but pure delight, hopefully be a full time edition to the podcast, love it.

Drew rocks. I'm 100% behind that guy. All the way. I love how deep he gets into stuff he cares about... Just awesome. (No Homo... ok... kinda a little)

What I like about Drew is that he extremely cultured and curious, always down to try something new. He's like Brad who's very knowledgeable about many different subjects, particularly history and world studies.

"I heard you can get high offa nutmeg" has been my emails alert since last week. Drew is awesome.

YUP YEP! I thought I was the only one who found him quite witty as well.

Definitely glad to see Drew being incorporated into the regular content, he always seemed like such an interesting guy and he is a wonderful addition to the bombcast I feel. He adds a really nice dynamic and alternate view to the other guys in the squad. Glad he is on this site.

I'm so happy to have come across this site. I don't think there's a video-game site out there other than Giant Bomb, where I like all of the team. I think they're all great, in their own little ways. Watching Drew's love of sim games just makes me smile.

It was genius. I laughed out loud when I heard it.

Yes, Drew has been an absolutely amazing contributor to the Bombcast. He always has something truly interesting to add. He does crazy stuff no one else does and then talks about it. It's a nice change.

He brings a nice contrast to the bombcast. I really liked the bombcast with Alexis and Matt Rorie too.

I like everyone on this site, is what I'm saying

Drew's always been great and always will be. I especially like the recent rise of Drewlexis everywhere on GB.

I kinda hope next week's podcast is Vinny, Drew, Alexis, and Rorie. It'd be unique, that's for sure.

i have to agree. I find myself consistently cracked up by Drew's often dry, usually hilarious remarks and enthralled by his adventures in life. Also, his crazy dancing in the Octoberkast waiting room was a thing of legend.

That was a fantastic line. Drew is not overtly funny like Vinny and Jeff, but he brings a real nice dry sensibility to the Bombcast.

Also, he typed almost the entirety of Eisenhower's address to the Operation Overlord forces by memory into a DOS prompt.

What's not to love?

Drew is a Dodgers fan? And to think I thought he was awesome.

#45 Posted by Frumpa (100 posts) -

Drews great. Locking that guy in a cage and forcing him to cook meth revealed his darker side though.

#46 Posted by JYoung (151 posts) -

Since he started being in more video and everything, I've been hoping they hire a new video producer and let Drew get into more editorial stuff. Ian helps out a lot, but I don't think he renders and edits video like Vinny and Drew. Next year is going to be tough if Jeff and Brad are doing all the reviews and driving Quick Looks alone. Rather than find a new editor, slide Drew in, he's already accepted by the audience.

I came here to talk about that! I was driving and perhaps should have pulled over the amount I was laughing, yet no one else made a noise!

He is a fantastic addition.
