EDIT: HEY GUIZ I MADE THE DRUMS LOUDER AND THE PIANO QUIETER

While I was sitting at my computer, with the dread of another day just beginning to peak over the horizon, I realised that they haven't changed the Bombcast music since forever.
So being the creative guy I am, I "borrowed" the melody and made a remix, of sorts:

That piano is a lot louder than I intended, and the mixing ain't great, but you get the idea. EDIT: NOT ANYMORE!

Anyway, I got to thinking, whether you have some musical talent, or if  (like me) you just like to press buttons until something doesn't make you go deaf - what do you want the bomb to sound like?

Are you perfectly happy with the current musical ensemble, or do you demand an indie ska+house ballad that would make Rebecca Black blush?

I'm personally a little tired of the current rendition, but then again I've been hearing it basically once a week for over a year.
If that music had any subliminal messaging in it, it has either failed dismally, or succeeded in the most dangerous way possible.

EXTERMINATE

Just kidding.
Thoughts?

This is pretty good, great job!

#4 Posted by Animasta (14698 posts) -

dope!

#5 Posted by TurboMan (7559 posts) -

drums should be louder, and maybe ad a bit more edge on the synth.... I like the idea of the Piano being the lead for a theme

#6 Posted by DapperMan (102 posts) -

As someone who really didn't like season 3's theme,

yo this shiz is tiiiiight
#7 Posted by TooWalrus (13218 posts) -

Yeah, we need a new theme, I never liked The current one, this 80s action cop horseshit is so played.

#8 Posted by Tebbit (4465 posts) -
@Phantomvirus: Thanks!

@Laketown: 2 legit 2 quit

@TurboMan: You're not wrong. I'll probably fix the drums when I wake up tomorrow. Changing the synth means I have to fiddle with knobs... which makes me uneasy, for unknown reasons.

@johnnysasaki: aiiiight! Or as we say in my country, chur bay.

I also never liked the current one, so I would not mind them using this one at all.

#10 Posted by HS21 (2682 posts) -

Samesies on not liking the current intro music. Also it just seems way too loud. Sure I can turn the volume down but then compared to how loud the guy's voices are, yo the intro music is too loud. Me no like.

#11 Posted by Little_Socrates (5677 posts) -

Personally still digging the current one, the bass on it is just so nicely mixed in there and the horns are just nicely timed.

This one is fine, but is a bit too chill in comparison to the current one. As TurboMan said, louder drums might help, and so would the current bassline (you could play that lefty on piano, but if it's in there now I couldn't hear it.)
#12 Posted by Underachiever007 (2468 posts) -

I like it! Drums should be a little louder, though.

#13 Posted by HS21 (2682 posts) -

Also yes, me likey this one more.

#14 Posted by SlightConfuse (3963 posts) -

i like what you have doneas everyone has said drums a little louder
#15 Posted by BraveToaster (12589 posts) -

Nice as always, bro.

#16 Posted by buft (3318 posts) -

now someone needs to make a season 4 picture

#17 Posted by Hosstile17 (764 posts) -

I like it. My recommendations would be to turn the piano down a touch, the synth needs a harder edge (it should almost hurt a bit), more kick drum.

#18 Posted by BonOrbitz (2198 posts) -

I like it! I agree that the drums need to be a bit "punchier". Also, I like the piano but I also agree that it may be a bit loud at first.

#19 Posted by alternate (2711 posts) -

It is is a little bit too similar to the season 2 theme.  I so like the piano bits though.  Something like the Orchestral version of the 1up show theme would be good for the bombcast.

@TooWalrus: I'm kinda feeling that too, although it might just be my yearly song fatigue.

@GeekDown: It is my secret dream to have this used as the Bombcast intro music.

@Little_Socrates: Yeah, I made this on about 10% of max volume, but I'm certainly gonna flesh things out when tomorrow.

@Underachiever007: @slightconfuse: Those drums are forever a thorn in my side. DAMN YOU, FL STUDIO!

@Axxol: Thanks man! Hey, weren't we going to do some kind of collaboration at some stage? THE TIME IS SOON!

@buft: Then all we need is faux Vinny, Jeff, Ryan and Brad. And that's how you build a counterfeit Bombcast.

@Hosstile17: The piano is a real troublemaker. One notch up and it's too lound, one notch down and it's too quiet. I suspect my mixing woes will be resolved when I totally rework everything though.
#21 Posted by BraveToaster (12589 posts) -
@Tebbit: We will, once I buy a new laptop.
#22 Posted by wafflestomp (249 posts) -

That's pretty cool.

holy shit thats good!

maybe make the drums louder and the synth needs a bit more body.

I love the ending especially, perfect for ryan to have in the back ground as he does the intro.

Now we need someone to remix this dubstep style.
Just kidding, don't crucify me folks

@wafflestomp:  Thanks! You're the guy I was thinking of, I forgot your username though. What music did you write for Wiskey Media? It's a question that keeps me up at night.

@CptChiken:
I was thinking of Ryan when I did that part. Err... not in a creepy way, of course.

@thehexeditor:
Bwawahwahwahwahwah WHUMPH

@Jimbo:
FUUUUUUUU - It's like they were looking in a mirror and took a photograph!

@Tebbit: Dude this needs to be the new theme song that stuff is the shit
#30 Posted by FraggingRights (82 posts) -

I dig this song. I've never been a fan of the current Bombcast tune, so I'll take anything over it.

#31 Edited by Tebbit (4465 posts) -
@McGriddle550: Thanks!

@FraggingRights: Thanks, although I sort of won by default ;)
#32 Posted by CptChiken (1987 posts) -
@Tebbit: the only way to think of ryan is in a creepy way.
#33 Posted by Soapy86 (2622 posts) -

Why does that music remind me of Deadly Premonition?

#34 Edited by wafflestomp (249 posts) -
@Tebbit:  I write all the music for the Bombcast and for some videos (WUTANG, etc..) . I also wrote the Screened & Tested intro themes and bumper music. New Bombcast theme in the near future!

Can't wait to hear the new Bombcast theme!

As for Tebbit's version, quite like it, great job!
#40 Edited by big_jon (5734 posts) -

It is great, like really cool, but needs more crazy techno like 80's sound effects. IMO

I want my Bombcast theme nice and cheesy.

I miss the bass in the original theme, it was awesome!

#41 Posted by bonbolapti (1614 posts) -

sounds like a Dreamcast soundboard. :D

I love your WUTANG stuff, it's a great fit!

I miss the bassline too, but try as I might, I couldn't reproduce it well enough... so I gave up and made it simpler > ??? > profit!

Yeah, I can kinda see that! I wouldn't have thought of that connection on my own though.

The answer to that is tucked away in the dark recesses of your soul.
#43 Posted by Napalm (9020 posts) -

Ew. I don't know what program/inputs/synths you used for that, but it sounds cheap.

#44 Posted by Tebbit (4465 posts) -
@Napalm:  What part of it sounds particularly cheap to you? If it's the piano then I'll let you live.
#45 Edited by dungbootle (2458 posts) -

Liking it!

#46 Posted by Ineedaname (4319 posts) -

I'd vote for that.

#47 Posted by MrHeist (17 posts) -

Oddly enough, something about it gives me an Alton Brown/Good Eats vibe, minus a bit of the kitsch.

This is not a bad thing.

The entire thing. MrHeist mentioned kitsch, and that seems to be a pretty good summation of how it sounds.

@dungbootle: Thanks!

I had to google that to get the reference, but you're not wrong! I'd say he has more of a Twin Peaks vibe, if you've ever seen that. Very jazzy.

I guess seeing as you're the first person to bring it up, I'll allow you your opinion :)
