I mean, they're all pretty good, but the first one after the new year, (with Dave), January 17 and January 24 Bombcasts have been really great. More so because there isn't much in terms of new releases, so the conversation gets derailed very quickly, but usually onto something totally related to the current conversation. The Great Penny Debate and the talk of How It's Made and Storage Wars was awesome.
Anybody else enjoyed the last few?
Last couple of Giant Bombcasts have been really grand.
I wish they went back to reviewing stupid drinks.
Just kiding been listening for awhile and ya these have been really good.
Jeff's Domino's delivery guy story should be recorded on a cassette made of pure unobtanium and hung in the fucking Louvre.
The "Prime" reference in the latest was pretty amazing, specifically the reaction to it from Ryan.
For those not in the know, 'Prime' is what a 10 scoring game was rebranded as on Gamespot in mid-2007 in place of 'Perfect'. At least, you know, I'm relatively sure that was the reference, given Ryan's initial raucous and then somewhat disgusted reaction.

well I was unaware that I couldn't post in topics that don't interest me, and all I'm sayin is that this topic is phrased in such a way that most people aren't going to say no, I did not in fact enjoy those bombcasts. make the question "anyone else enjoy/prefer the bombcasts in which they barely talk about games?" or something, which would at least facilitate discussion better

nope they're all fucking terrible and all of them are unfunny assholes who can't have a decent discussion to save lives.

you're hilarious.

Yeah, since everyone got back from vacation it's definitely been more lively than the end of last year. I think this happens every year, though, as by the time December rolls around and the GOTY crunch begins, the Bombsquad turns into soulless husks in dire need of a two week break.
Still, that whole "Prime" thing was fantastic.
The Bombcast vibe has really changed in the last six months. Things were pretty grim in terms of tone during the summer. Now, everyone's all happy-go-lucky. I expect the more edgy cynicism to return once the game-drought hits us though.
I like both styles of Bombcast, so I'll be happy either way.
The Bombcast is good right now because there isn't shit to talk about. That means they have to bust out the underwater shotguns and 90's disaster movie discussion.
The "Prime" reference had me laughing my ass while trying to sleep so yes. The bombcast has been pretty awesome this year as with every year.
Nothing beats the G.I. Joe discussion though. =]
good on you.
I've come to the realization that the Bombcast is at its best when they aren't discussing games. Honestly, they could do an episode that has no game talk at all, and it could easily be their best ever.
Then again, Jeff's "washed up Duke Nukem" is my favorite moment on the show, so...
@Napalm: Ahh but you are. Yes we have gotten into arguments. Anyways that's neither here nor there. Last few weeks have totally been amazing and kudos to you for making a straight up positive thread. I'm tired of people writing "oh hey I'm going to complain about giant bomb but don't you complain about my negativity" threads and getting all pissed when other people (like yourself) write legit awesome, positive threads. good on you. That's why I said, "not recently". I'm changing my attitude online, but I tell you, some days it's fucking hard. Some days I just want to reach through my monitor and punch the shit out of some posters/commentors/internet people.

Pretty much this. Chrono Cross is one of the few games that hold the coveted 10/10 at the website, but most fans of 'Trigger grudgingly don't consider it so.
For example: what if ms. Donkey Kong was blowing Mr. Donkey Kong and she tasted bananas? SOMEBODY'S BEEN CHEATING ON THE MISSUS WITH SOME SKANK ASS BABOON HO.
The first one of the New Year was my favorite for many reasons, but one of the most important was being reminded how awesome the flow of the 'cast was with four people instead of five.
My god the 20 minute discussion on the topic of going into space and how Jeff is possessed by the idea of shooting garbage/people he doesn't like, into the sun was brilliant, not having games to play is doing great things for the bombcast.
"What would you do if you went into space, jeff?" "Uhhh... build a laser!" "This is why Jeff isn't allowed into space."
Yeah, it has been a great couple of Bombcasts, though I fear that some of it will be lost when games are coming out again. Hopefully they can strike a healthy balance between off-topic nonsense and their video game discussion.
But with that said, I always enjoy listening to the Bombcast whether it is hilarious or not.
