No NDX this week?
Here is my theory
NDX started as a huge joke, it was just a podcast to discuss the crap that comes out on Wiiware and Dsiware. The problem now is that that joke is kinda played, it's not as funny anymore, and when the 3DS comes out with all of these Gameboy games there going to be good, so it won't be as funny there either. I think Jeff regrets making it now because he can't easily just say "I'm not doing them anymore". I'd also imange that when the E Shop opens the Nintendo related material will be back on the Giant Bomb Podcast leaving no reason for the NDX.
This is what Jeff said on Formspring.
" Forget the NDX and spend that time playing an Endurance Run.I don't think we'll ever see an endurance run. With the guys in a bigger office I don't think it's feasible to have them play a game for hours on end. When they were in their own little basement yeah they could do whatever but now I think all we'll see in terms of long gameplay videos are quicklooks.I know saying so is taboo, but holy hell, it's my favorite site feature by far, and it's been far too long."
Forget the NDX and spend that time playing an Endurance Run.Jeff has said that they will never do an Endurance Run simply because people demand one.I know saying so is taboo, but holy hell, it's my favorite site feature by far, and it's been far too long.
I was just playing some downloadable games on my Wii, and thinking, "In thirty years, this console and controller is going to seem so insane. Numbchucks? Disk-based games? No one will believe me when I tell them about it. And then I started thinking, what will YOU, conductor Jeff, be doing in thirty years? And will the download hobos still be riding the Xpress rails?
A bummer but it honestly felt inevitable from the start. Its a fun show, and I always welcome more GB content, but if it detracts from Jeff's actual work it isn't worth keeping around. I'm sure whenever downloadable injustice rears its ugly head the train will scream into the station with a fresh new locomotive.
That's why I said I know it's taboo.

I find it odd that a website would actively avoid giving its viewership something they obviously want. Not talking about it obviously isn't getting one here faster, so I thought I'd mention how much I'd like to see them waste their time doing something entertaining, which, to me, the NDX probably stopped being a few episodes in after the joke wore thin. It sounds like Jeff agrees.
But that's the last time I'll ever mention the ER on this site again. I don't want to sound like the leagues of people demanding one. I just needed a place to put that out there.
@zudthespud said:I saw that this morning and I am not going to lie, I got a little Giddy. Chooooooo Choooooo! This train is unstoppable!hahaha! just noticed that. can't wait.
It's true! It says it right there in the "Coming up on Giant Bomb" box!
For posterity's sake, in case some troll (ahem, Ryan) takes it down:
CHOO CHOO MOTHERFUCKERS! I was expecting something when the eShop launched, but that doesn't happen for five more days. Wonder what this "emergency transmission" is.If jeff threw coals in the engine car, it must be something important!
