Origin of Peter Molyneux's Balls (the joke)

I was just wondering if somebody could explain to me where this joke comes from. On the first Bombcast when they started going off on the whole "muh balls" thing, it started off with Ryan saying that there was a countdown on Lionshead.com or something saying that at the end Peter revealed his big round liver-spotted balls. What was actually revealed?  :P Sorry if this sounds stupid haha

I would like to know this as well. Anyone have an answer?

Maybe something to do with the dog?
