I probably sound wromg. But I meant that Co-Op should be apart from Gold subscription because it has less load on servers. In most cases it is story experience that let's replace AI.
@Petruccio: Doesn't work that way. You use online, you pay for online. Doesn't matter how much online you use. I could pay for a month and only play five minutes. Chances are I take up less of a load on their servers than you and your friends playing co-op. But I still have to pay.
@SuperSecretAgenda: That is why I believe in ONLIVE. And it is nice that PSN is free. I enjoy xbox 360 and for that time xbox live is better. But nature of my job doesn't give me access to internet that much. 2/3 of the year my consoles are not connected. So if You use code for 1 month it's fine. But it is pain in the middle of Your body on the back to stop them charging Your credit card. There are many people online who are connected, but do not have gold account. And it is hard to find companion for Co-Op after some time. People mostly play competetive stuff. Except Horde. I mean making online Co-Op free would make it much more popular.

Unfortunately, Microsoft markets their things in a different way than PSN does. I personally love PSN for being free, and it's just as good as XBL. Unfortunately, Micro$oft has been doing monthly fees for Xbox live and has profited from it. They most likely want to grab every single dollar they can get from you. For them to give us something free would be out of character.

Co-op & Competitive multiplayer have pretty much the same impact on Live servers - which is next to none. The actual game is played via peer to peer connections. All the live server does is the matchmaking & other similar things that aren't very bandwidth intensive.

If you're paying $60 for Live every year, you're not trying hard enough. You can easily find deals for $30 or less for an entire 12 months (sometimes +1 extra month). That's less than $3 a month, and if that's not worth it to you, then just don't buy it. Microsoft chooses to charge users for their servers, and they have every right to. You're not entitled to receive anything for free from them. They're providing a product.

Games like Modern Warfare 2 uses P2P, its not like microsoft is running servers for you to play it. When you pay for GOLD you pay for... uh... leaderboards? Yeah, I'm not really sure..
