Ok bare with me, but what if the Bombcast and NDX merged into like one podcast?
So, how long until we reach four-hour Bombcasts?
As much as i like the GB crew and i like that they all do make me laugh, i would listen to a 8 hour podcast as long as its not about games. I find myself in disagreement with most of their opinions on games and the games industry and i know that sounds contradictory to what GB is, but i like these guys and the site, but my views are just moving in a different direction.
The Bombcast is at its best when they do what they do so I welcome tangents and long podcasts about nothing.
I'd listen to the Bombcast if it was 8 hours long every week.
The rest of the gaming press is getting worse at doing podcasts.
Joystiq's format sucks and most of the people have no charisma.
Rebel FM is mainly about iPhone fad (not a typo) games, technical PC drawl, Matt Chandronait telling everyone he's poor and Arthur Gies shitting on game A, B or C.
IGN are too short, infused with the political bullshit of one particular editor and barely cover news or even games at times.
Talkradar is dead.
Weekend Confirmed is routinely skipped because Garnet Lee has gone from of the best in the business, to a repetitive fence-sitter.
Destructoid isn't gaming podcast anymore. (Though still morbidly entertaining)
I feel like the better podcasts out there skirt the edges of gaming culture - Lasertime, VGMpire, Cape Crisis, The CAGcast, The Comedy Button, Tested's Adam Savage Project or anything to do with Kevin Smith (TESD, Smodcast, Get Old, Fatman on Batman). Does anyone feel the same? I have nothing personal against these people and sometimes get enjoyment out of those listed above and to be fair, they are all free - but man if the Bombcast isn't something very special.
It can't happen soon enough, really. It's more than welcome, as far as I'm concerned. It's the one part of the site that hasn't suffered noticeably in the move to CBS. The more podcast the merrier.
Yes. Alcohol should be involved with the bombcast more often. This reminds me of dear old Talkradar, some episodes went well past three hours and even over four, but by then it was nearly incoherent drunken ramblings. I wouldn't mind the Bombcast stepping up to their level.
@MjHealy: Curious cause I don't remember hearing him on the Bombcast in the past year I think and I don't see him post on the forums so I was wondering how much involvement he has with the whole GB thing aside from his reviews and articles. Seems so strange how he's so far off to the side.
Remember when they said they wanted to break up the podcast and rethink the way they do things because of how long the podcasts had been getting and how much work they took to do? It's hard to believe it's been almost two years since then and now the Bombcast is about an hour longer on average. Good times.

I think you nailed it, especially in regards to Weekend Confirmed.

Not soon enough. I enjoy forgetting that I'm at work.
Agreed. I listen to the Bombcast on my commute to and from work plus during lunch. I don't listen to too many podcasts, so I can use some lengthy ones to get me through the week especially when any one of my other 'casts takes the week off (I'm lookin' at you CAG).
