The peas that Ryan ate in the travelogue were just plain ol' regular peas. If they were mushy peas you would have known about it. Mushy peas look like this:

If you're having mushy peas on their own, mint sauce is where it's at.

I prefer peas in the pod, or getting bitch-slapped right in the face. This is analogy is intended to show how much  I enjoy the pea.
