I get two copies, I keep one and I'm saving the others to (one day) donate to our local library.
What do you do with the Bombcast MP3 after you finish listening?
I debone them. Carefully fillet it into 6 oz. portions. Season and lightly dust with wondra flour. Then in a medium-hot pan, i sautee it flour side down until just barely golden brown. Then I place the bombcast into the oven for 3-5 minutes depending on it's length. Then i flip and cook for another 30 seconds.
I usually serve it over sauteed spinach or, if i'm feeling saucy, some white truffled soft scrambled eggs!
I have my Zune set to download and keep ALL Bombcast episodes. Unnecessary? yeah. Totally awesome? Definitely.
Side issue, for those who keep them, how do you deal with the file size of podcasts in general on MP3 players? iPod Classics (or whatever they're calling them) have a giant capacity, but your run of the mill Walkman or iAudio or whatever generally runs up to 32MB. Take the old HotSpot episodes, then - encoded at 128kbp/s, running at 60 minutes, and they were 60MB each. 60MB! Cheating me of my precious, precious memory space. Unacceptable for a show that's only one hour long. But I can't imagine having a whole lot of the Bombcast piled up on one MP3 player.
I have every Bombcast I've downloaded so far. I like to listen to the old ones, instead of putting on random music when I'm doing things, I put on a Bombcast. According to my itunes, my Bombcast folder has: 103 items; 8 days, 4 hours and 52 minutes total times and takes up 5.29gb.
Keep them stored in my Itunes saves file for future re-runs in a years time or so, once I can't remember what went on in them.
It also makes you think about how this group of people has changed since the arrow pointing down podcasts. Bombcast just gets better and better. And they haven't really changed a damn thing format wise. So it must be the guys. :-)
I set them free, so they can live in the wild, find a mate, and make lil Bombcasts...
"It's the Circle of Bombcast"
I give mine a cup of tea and we both sit down and I talk to it about how things aren't working out and that our relationship is going to have to end, then I give it a big hug and we part our separate ways.
I can't delete a Bombcast, I don't quite have it in me. They are far too good to get rid of.
Only one click away from utter hilarity.
I don't archive this stuff anymore. It gets to be a real pain after a while and what's the point of keeping them? Are you really going to listen to that episode for July xx, 2008 again? I just Tell Zune to keep 3 episodes and delete them as I listen. I used to do what you do though.
