Why does Brad has to be the one announcing emails?

I've listened to the bombcast for over a year now, and one of the only inside jokes I was too late for, and still carries on, is brad saying "Emails" just before the email section of the bombcast.

Can someone explain when this started and why?

It was from a bombcast in early 09 (or late 08), I don't remember when exactly. Ryan would usually announce each part of the show, but I guess for some reason Brad wanted to announce the next section this time. The next upcoming part of the show was "New Releases", but for some reason Brad yelled out "EMAILS". Everyone else laughed, Brad shamed himself, and that was kind of what started the whole thing. It seems kind of dull just reading it, but it was pretty funny when it happened on the bombcast.

Tested.com has Brad soundbited for their "Questions" section for tested podcast.

him shouting varying degrees of Email and Will saying no until the Climax of will shouting "QUESTIONS!"

That is were I know the joke more.

Because it's written in the ancient Giantbomb scrolls... that he, and only he can say... EMAILS!

Church has the best explanation, as for Tested.com, that's a recent thing.

He used to always say "Can I do it?" before the emails section, Ryan would say "Go for it" then he would shout "EMAILS!" Then one time he asked, Ryan said something like "Why do you always ask You never have to ask!" From then on he always announced the emails section. Wish I could remember which podcast was the last time he asked. I thought it was pretty funny.

Brad's the only one who can. There's a reason why the Tested podcast uses pre-recorded Brad for their email section.
