The question was brought up in the last bombcast, if the Giant Bomb app currently only found in the itunes store should find its way to the Android market among others. I currently own the G1 which runs the Android OS and I personally would love to see the Giant Bomb app on the Android Marketplace, but1 person isn't enough for them to put the effort and money behind porting the app over, so comment below and if you want the app on your phone let your voice be heard. Don't stop here feel free to email them and let them know we want it too.

Sure why not, I'd like to see it on as many possible devices as they can put it on.

I plan on buying the HTC Hero as my next phone (if it comes out in time). So the Giant Bomb app on the Android Marketplace would be great!

See, I was actually surprised that it wasn't released on android because considering the open sourcedness of it, I'd figure more of the Giant Bomb userbase would be more into it. But that damned iPhone is obviously the most popular...

Anywho, I was the one who brought up the question on the Bombcast and when I first saw the commercial, I checked the marketplace on the adroid to see if it was there, but it wasn't. =/ Now I regularly watch alot of the Giant Bomb videos and since they're not available on youtube or something, I've gotta wait till late at night to watch videos on my home PC. I've admittedly never bought an app on the marketplace because I've yet to have seen an app that's a must buy, but considering all the content I watch on GiantBomb, I'll definitely pay over 2 dollars for the app.

In order to get it on the android marketplace we need more people wanting it there. Its too bad that as of right now the only phone is the G1/Magic, but they have said that by the end of the year there could be up to 18 phones using the Android OS. Hopefully they see this and realize it could end up benefiting them to push the app to as many people as possible, and thank you ikickrocksyo for emailing them the question.

I think you probably asked in the wrong thread. I think it'd get alot more traffic and interest in the Offtopic forum. Put one up there and I'll happily add my two cents. But yea considering all the phones that are planned to have Android and better development options, such as allowing devs to use their own payment service rather than googlecheckout, the installbase can only increase.

I have an iPhone but I think it would be great if the app was on as many platforms as possible.

I may be upgrading to one of those G1 phones or whatever since I have T-Mobile. I would get the app for sure if it were released for Android.

@ikickrocksyo: Most of the videos are indeed on Youtube, some glaring omissions would be the Endurance Run
and Quick Looks. However the news and office videos find their way on there.

Yea, you're right, some of them are...But I always watch things like TANG, the Endurance Run, and QLs. Considering I watch alot of the videos, I'd like to have all of them available on my phone.

Yeah I have a G1 as well and it would be pretty awesome to watch giantbomb videos on it. At  the vary least make the videos on the site android friendly. Then again android is suppose to get full flash support this fall. so we won't need no stinking app. Muwahahahaha

Flash prolly won't be worth it until the beefed up handsets come out this holiday because I've seen alot of devs saying with the current power of the G1 not only will it kill batteries but it probably won't even perform too well...Just sayin =]

I just upgrade to the g1 as well, and I would love to see the app on the market place, it would be one of the few apps I have no problem paying for. Hopefuly I won't have to wait too long for it to appear.

Me too. I have the ap, but honestly I dont use it that much. I usually just get my Bombcast fix on my iPhone.

I don't use it much easier. I wish the app let me post in the forums because than I would use it all the time. I really just bought it was to support the site.

@Wolverine: Absolutely yes. If this ap supported forum use I would be all over it.

Edit: Supporting the site was a good motivator too when getting it but honestly I just wanted to get anything. The only other thing I have purchased for the iPhone was the MGS game, other then that I have no aps on it.

Having just purchased an Android phone, and not owning an iPhone, I would totally be down with buying an Android GiantBomb app.

I was gonna get an I-phone almost entirely for the giantbomb app. But I can't afford the thing so I'm gonna get a MyTouch from Tmobile.

Hopefully they do make the giantbomb app for it. I would buy it in a second.

Yes, although its more about a cost vs sales thing, hard to say if it'd be worth the time to develop.  BTW they ever mention sales numbers on the iphone app?

I got a mytouch and I would pay 5 to 10 dollars. Please don't actually make it cost that much though, it might just be my loyalty talking in that situation.

With the explosion of android phones on the market right now, it would be totally awesome to have a giant bomb app on my shiny new Motorola Droid.
