Access quite slow

I understand this isn't really a bug, but thought I'd share.

Recently (past week or two) my downspeed with Giant Bomb. Initially I thought there was a bug with the video player, since it would just stop every 5 seconds. Looking at the speed I get when downloading the video though, I'm not breaking 1MB/s, and often sitting around 300KB/s. This, clearly, isn't fast enough to stream HD videos.

I'm in the UK, with a connection that hits 250Mb/s most of the time, and regularly get 15-20MB down from other sites if downloading files.

Any idea what this could be?

Interesting. We serve our videos through Akamai, so the issue must be with one of their CDNs.
