I'm on iOS and for a while now I simply can't switch to the black theme. I press the button and it does nothing. It's not a huge issue but the black on white hurts my eyes and drains the battery.
Can't switch to black color scheme on mobile
I'm on Android, and I can't either. Just updated my phone to Lollipop the other day, and it worked before I did that.
@mooseymcman: Just tried this myself on Android: long-press your profile button on the main page. That should be the Android equivalent of hovering over it with your mouse. Not sure if it's the same for iOS though.
@gaff: I'm not really sure what that was supposed to accomplish? That just brings up a menu asking if I want to do things like open the link in a new tab.
@mooseymcman: Never mind, I'm stupid: my lollipop tablet shows the "normal" site. Should've checked my phone.
Happened to me on my android phone, had to clear my cookies/cache and reboot the phone but it worked after that.
Yup. I've been viewing the site on the light theme for weeks, like some sort of crazy person :-P
I feel disgusting every time I do it, but I keep doing it out of my love for the site.
@rongalaxy: I think it depends on your browser. When using Chrome on iOS, I have normally noticed a lot of drop down menu buttons not being triggered when you tap them (not just on GiantBomb). I've tried zooming on the theme change button in the account drop-down and it always registers my tap on whatever is underneath (for example, when on the main forum page on GB my tap registers on is the forum search field that the theme change button is positioned over in the drop-down).
What worked for me on Chrome iOS, as @wcarle suggested, was clear Chrome's cookies (which logs you out of GB upon your next visit), change the theme (since the theme button for non-logged in people is a dedicated button on the nav bar) and then log back in to GB.
